As at the beginning of 2020, recreational marijuana is legal in 11 states plus Washington D.C. As expected, the market is experiencing a boom; this is especially the case in previously underrepresented niches such as accommodation. Not many hotels allow cannabis consumption on the premises. However, Airbnb has no official policy. This means weed use is at the discretion of the host.
Moreover, a number of enterprising cannapreneurs have seized on the gap in the market. There are special marijuana-friendly Airbnb sites such as Travel THC, The Travel Joint, and Bud and Breakfast. These sites are manna from heaven for weed lovers who need a toke or ten while on vacation. Even though marijuana is legal for recreational use in Denver, the city only has around 600 weed-friendly hotel rooms!
If you are caught smoking weed illegally, you could be fined anywhere from $150 to over $5,000 in national parks. If you need weed and are going on vacation, never fear! We have compiled a list of weed-friendly Airbnb properties in all 11 areas where cannabis is legal recreationally.
