Waterfall Bong

Are you tired of the same old bong set-up? Are you looking to put a little spice in your routine? Well, we may have just what you’re looking for. Waterfall bongs are the newest and hottest trend that will jazz up your usual regimen.

It has a simple and minimalist design that has users buzzing (literally!). In fact, it has been touted as an inexpensive way to get a good, clean hit. Waterfall bongs may lack all the pomp and circumstance, but the way they work is nothing less than exceptional.

Waterfall bongs are a really innovative way to smoke your cannabis. If you’re in a jam or can’t spend lots of money on really involved set-ups, waterfall bongs offer a cool, clear-cut way to get your high. It uses tools that you may have around your house and you don’t have to be a scientist to create one either. You can follow these steps and have your own, personalized waterfall bong in no time flat.

A note of warning though, this kind of set-up could get messy. So if you’re doing this inside your home, be aware that you may be spilling quite a bit of fluid. Keep paper towels or cloths handy.

How to Make a Waterfall Bong

It’s really simple to make your own waterfall bong at home. Why not give it a try?

What You Will Need:

  • A clean, empty plastic bottle with a plastic top (preferably a two-liter soda bottle, although any size will suffice)
  • A lighter
  • Water
  • A sharp knife or a drill (or any other sharp instrument)
  • Metal bowl
  • Your cannabis stash
  • Duct tape
  • Slider bowl attachment from a bong

  • Tin foil
  • Cork
  • Silicone or rubber washer

Step one: Create a hole near the bottom of the bottle either with a sharp knife or a drill. It is recommended that you use the drill because it will be a lot easier, but you can still achieve the same results with a knife.

If you’re doing it with a knife or some other sharp instrument, lay the bottle flat and then bore down. Not only will this give you more precision, but it’s a whole lot safer. Most users agree that a quarter of an inch is about the size you need to get a perfect draw. Once the hole has been made, cover it with the tape.

Step two: Make an airtight seal by covering the top with the slider bowl. If it doesn’t fit, you can also bore a hole into the cap of the soda bottle and use that instead. Make sure you heat the plastic around the hole in the cap.

This will help to create a better seal. If there is still some room up top, you can use a silicone or rubber washer (you can get these cheap at any local hardware store) to shore up any looseness and create a seal.

Step three: Fill it up with water, but leave some room at the top. Fill your bowl on top with your weed.

Step four: Apply heat from the lighter onto the weed in the bowl. At the same time, open the taped end. The water will flow out and the smoke from the heated stash will flow into the bottle, creating a milky environment inside.

Step five: Unscrew the top and take your hit!  Repeat to your leisure.

And that’s it! You’ve now created the perfect waterfall bong. It isn’t a hard set-up, though if you’re doing it inside the home, it can require some clean-up, hence the use of paper-towels or cloths. Most users recommend that you try this method outside. If you’re camping or out in nature, that would be the perfect time to try it as any water you spill can go to the ground.

Waterfall Bongs: Final Thoughts

Some users report that they’ve obtained some of their best highs with this method. Also, the great thing about waterfall bongs is their adaptability. If you don’t have a bowl that fits, or you don’t have a bottle cap, you can substitute a cork or even tin foil.

Or, if you don’t have duct tape, you can use your finger. Make sure, though, that if you’re doing this inside your home, you have a large container or sink to let out the water into. Otherwise, simply follow the same steps. It’s that easy.

You can also optimize your hits by doing a few tricks. First, scrutinize how much or how little is in the bottle. You don’t want the water level to be nearly gone before you take a hit. You also don’t want the water in the bottle to be so full that you inhale water.

Also, check the temperature of the water. Users agree that the colder the water you put into the bottle, the better the hit. If you’re new to the cannabis game, take it easy if you’re doing a waterfall bong. The hits can be pretty intense. If you’re ready to embark on a new kind of bong, though, go forth and blaze!

    Re-usable's to help you Relax!

Perfect for the “Repurposer” in me! or anyone, because we all have something like this lying around the house! I prefer to use clear plastic bottle to be able to check the water levels! I’ve also used a rubber glove, just the finger cut off , rolled up and with a hole poked in it , you have a make shift gasket for the seal between the bowl piece and the bottle!
