Who Is Source V?

This brand is based in Las Vegas and was founded in 2013. At that time, it was called Source Vapes. The brand’s product range has drastically changed recently. At one time, it had a significant array of herb and concentrate vaporizers. However, Orb 3, Orb 4, and Orb XL are no longer available on the official website.

At some point in 2019, Source Vapes seemingly vanished off the face of the Earth. The website URL became invalid, and customers were unable to contact them. It seems as if the brand went out of business. Even its Facebook page hasn’t been updated since June 2019.

Randall from Focus V is seemingly the new owner and has relaunched the brand as Source V. While you can still find the Orb range on third-party websites, none of the versions are on the new Source V website. Overall, there are far fewer products available, but we cover what you can buy in this review.

Source Slim 4 Review

This is one of the few ‘old’ Source Vapes products still available. The Source Slim 4 was originally released as a more portable version of the Orb 4. It operates similarly to most wax pens on the market. You turn it on with five clicks and switch between the three temperature settings with three clicks.

Features

It is a fairly easy device to use. Loading it involves removing the mouthpiece and screwing in one of the two atomizers you receive. Place the wax on the exposed coil of the Dual Quartz atomizer or the bottom of the chamber for the other atomizer. Replace the mouthpiece and start vaping!

The three temperature settings are as follows:

Green: The lowest setting at 2.6v – 3.2v
Red: The medium setting at 3.2v – 3.7v
Blue: The highest setting at 3.7v – 4.2v

As is the case with the Orb 4, you only get control over the wattage rather than the temperature. Incidentally, choose the dual quartz atomizer if you want to expose your concentrate to higher temperatures. The coil-less atomizer is best for flavor.

The Slim 4 remains a well-manufactured piece. It consists of stainless steel and is less than five inches in height. Therefore, it is ideal for people who like to vape on the move.

Performance

The Slim 4 is extremely easy to use, although it is sometimes hard to remember if you pressed the button four or five times! The 650mAh battery offers a nice combination of portability and battery life. Most users suggest they get around an hour’s worth of use from this vape pen. Unless you’re a chronic user, a full charge should last you some time. It takes around 2-3 hours to charge the battery fully.

If you want to create massive clouds, use the dual quartz atomizer. Otherwise, the other atomizer is best for flavor.

Once you switch on the device with your loaded concentrate, the Slim 4 heats the material in around five seconds. Crucially, the vapor quality is similar to the rest of the original Orb series. This is unsurprising since the Source Vape 4 series featured the same atomizers.

If you want to create massive clouds, use the dual quartz atomizer. Otherwise, the other atomizer is best for flavor hunters. The top of the mouthpiece allows airflow control, so you can tailor airflow to get the most personalized vaping experience.

Overall

In many ways, the Slim 4 is now outdated. However, if you’re new to vaping, it is still worth considering. These days, Source V sells it for less than $40, and it comes with a diffuser pack. Therefore, it is arguably still worth buying.

Source V Orb Versa Review

The Orb Versa is an e-rig that allows you to load your concentrate before or after the atomizer has warmed up. Try both scenarios to see which experience you prefer. While it is technically portable, the Orb Versa is larger than most e-rigs out there.

Features

According to Source V, the Orb Versa ‘has it all.’ Certainly, it is a device packed with features. You can dab your wax while the atomizer is hot for a fast hit. Alternatively, embrace ‘cold loading’ and benefit from more hits and better flavor. The Versa enables users to adjust the session time to a maximum of 90 seconds, and it vibrates once it is time to take a hit.

The Versa has a huge atomizer, and it works with ceramic, quartz, titanium, or SiC inserts. Alternatively, you can try the Titan atomizer for longer hits or the Magnum option for better flavor.

Source V has provided a three-year warranty for your peace of mind. Overall, there are three settings:

600F Max: 90-second session
650F Max: 60-second session
750F Max: 30-second session

However, it provides full digital temperature control so that you can choose the precise temperature within those three session lengths.

The ‘reclaim catcher’ is a great feature. It enables you to reuse your dabs for another hit or place them in edibles.

Performance

The 3000mAh battery is huge and ensures you can enjoy a full day’s worth of hits without recharging it. In general, you can get up to eight sessions per single charge, and it shouldn’t take longer than three hours to charge.

The vapor quality depends on various factors, including the temperature used, insert, atomizer, and concentrate standard. However, the fact that you get so many options speaks volumes. In general, you can switch between huge hits that fill the lungs or satisfying vapor.

Overall

While it is portable, the Source Orb Versa probably isn’t the best device to lug around. However, it provides you with a sensational array of options to enjoy the best possible vaporizing experience at home. It is unquestionably a vape device for the connoisseur and is reasonably priced at around $170.

Source V Alpine IH Review

The Alpine is one of Source V’s latest releases. However, there were some major issues sending the devices to new customers. On forums, some people complained that it took almost a full year for them to receive their Alpine IH from when they placed their pre-order. Let’s find out if it was worth the wait.

Features

Aesthetically, the Alpine looks like an old television set. However, it comes with a lot of modern features. These include:

Protection against overheating.

Screwed down wood tops.
Zebra wood top.
Large diametric magnet.
Better temperature control.
Large activation switch.

It seems as if this is an updated version of the Alpine. Given the problems customers have had since this product’s release, here’s hoping it does the trick. Source V claims the Alpine has a sleek and modern design. In reality, it looks like a prop from a TV show set in the 1960s. That said, it does an admirable job of disguising its true function!

Performance

The Alpine comes with a 1000mAh battery and is designed to provide a consistent heat-up time. Its one-button function makes it easy to operate according to Source V. Simply click the button once, and the heater starts functioning. It takes approximately 10 seconds for it to heat up completely.

While it all sounds great in theory, it is a different story in practice. A growing number of users have complained that the Alpine doesn’t work! Others have reported receiving ‘replacement’ units that also failed to operate.

This is perhaps due to the poorly packaged product. Customers say that they’re shocked by how little protective packaging is included. This would help explain the high number of malfunctioning units to date.

Overall

So far, Source V’s rollout of the Alpine has been calamitous. After a huge delay, a large percentage of devices were either broken upon receipt or failed to function within a couple of days. It is up to Source V to rectify the situation or lose a huge percentage of its customer base.

The brand changed its URL a while back. You can find everything you need at www.thesourcev.com. The products have different warranties. For instance, the Alpine has a one-year warranty.

A few years ago, Source Vapes had risen towards the top of the industry. However, after a series of problems enveloped the company, it went out of business. The new incarnation is called Source V, but it too has encountered problems, specifically with the launch of the Alpine device.

Source V offers some high-quality products such as the Slim 4 and Orb Versa. The latter is a larger device suitable for home use, whereas the former is an excellent portable vape pen. The new Alpine vaporizer had much promise but has thus far failed to deliver.

Source V is generally not regarded as one of the top companies in its industry these days. Its reputation has taken a hit, and customers may find better vaporizers and customer service elsewhere.
