Watch Out For These 5 Traps When Going to Buy CBD Oil

MarijuanaBreak Staff / Updated on July 26, 2017

2018 is probably going to be known as the year of CBD oil. As the U.S government continues to restrain the use of marijuana in most states, most patients are now turning to alternatives. Extracts of the cannabis plant are proving to be extremely effective in treating numerous medical conditions due to one of its primary cannabinoids known as CBD (Cannabidiol).

What is CBD in Cannabis?

CBD is one of the most popular chemicals in the cannabis plant. Yet unlike its rivalry, THC, Cannabidiol (CBD) will not get you stoned. Similar to all cannabinoids, CBD attaches itself to certain receptors in your body to produce its effects.

While the exact science behind CBD is still be discovered, it is now understood that our bodies produces cannabinoids. To be exact the body produces two receptors for cannabinoids, called CB1 receptors and CB2 receptors.

CB1 receptors are located all over the body, but the majority of them are found in the brain. The CB1 receptors are in charge of coordination, movement, pain, emotions, thinking, memories, among others.

CB2 receptors are more related to the immune system. They effect inflammation, pain, among others.

It was once thought that CBD acts on directly on the CB2 receptor, but it is now understood that they don’t directly act on the receptors either CBD influences the body to use more of its own natural cannabinoids. In other words, CBD helps to produce more natural goodness in your body to overcome different medical or psychological problems.

For example, patients with chronic conditions such as epilepsy and cancer often use high extract CBD cannabis oil to treat these conditions.

Before we explain the 5 traps about buying CBD Oil, it’s important to understand the difference between CBD Oil and Hemp Oil.

What is CBD Cannabis oil?

It’s first of all important to understand that CBD Cannabis Oil cannot be sold in every state and is normally prescribed by medical marijuana doctors with a prescription. This requires patients to obtain a verified MMJ card prior to purchasing CBD oil.

CBD oil is a rich oil that has high content of cannabidiol (CBD). While the cannabis and hemp plants both contain CBD, CBD Cannabis Oil is made from the flowers, stalks and leaves of the cannabis plant. CBD oil has become extremely popular in treating a variety of conditions including inflammatory disorders, depression, cancer and more…

CBD cannabis oil tends to contain higher levels of CBD and can range anywhere from 2% to 99.9% CBD depending on the product, purity, and source.

What is Hemp CBD oil?

Hemp CBD oil, also known as hemp seed oil is made from the seeds of the plant. The CBD oil is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant normally using a cold-press process.

Apart from helping to treat a variety of medical conditions, Hemp CBD oil is also used to substitute olive oil; it is used as a natural moisturizer, lotions, soaps and other skin products.

Hemp CBD Oil typically contains less than 25 parts per million of CBD. It is rich in nutritious material such as Omega-3 fatty acids, terpenes, vitamins, chlorophyll, amino acids, and other phytocannabinoids like cannabigerol (CBG), Cannabichromene (CBD), cannabinol (CBN) and cannabidivarin (CBCV).

When purchasing hemp oil, it is important to read the fine print to understand the concentration levels. For example, pure Hemp CBD oil for anxiety will have different components compared to Hemp CBD oil for depression.

Why Buy CBD Oil?

CBD Oil comes in all shapes and sizes. Furthermore, there are dozens of companies selling CBD oil in one form or another. These companies include;

  • PureKana
  • GreenWorldsRoads
  • Elixinol
  • Endoca
  • Charlotte’s Web

While all of these companies are trustworthy and reliable, it is still important to watch out for these 5 traps when purchasing CBD Oil.

5 Traps to Know When Buying CBD Oil Online

Trap #1 – Watch Out for Low CBD Oil Prices

There are so many companies now selling CBD oil that it’s hard to know the good from the bad. Go online and search “buy CBD Oil Online” and you’ll get thousands of results. Naturally, we tend to go for the lowest prices when purchasing anything, but in this case, low priced CBD oil will probably mean a low concentration, and you’ll most probably be throwing your money away. Prices of quality CBD oil will range around $50-$75 for 300mg.

Trap #2 – Don’t Buy CBD Oil That Cures Everything

If you think that there is one CBD Oil that will cure every medical condition, then think again. There is no such thing, and anyone that claims to sell the best CBD Oil on the market that heals everything is probably lying.
When buying CBD oil from a store, it’s important to read the fine print and what they claim their product does. Most reputable stores will have different products that have been created and fine-tuned to treat various conditions. Some will have CBD specific oils that can help a number of conditions, but no company has one miracle potion that does it all.
CBD oil must be lab tested and refined to find the perfect combination to treat different medical conditions.

Trap #3 – Look for the Non-Psychoactive Stamp

The first thing to look for when browsing an online CBD store is for the Non-Psychoactive seal of approval. CBD oil does not contain THC, or it contains extremely low levels. Also, by law, it is illegal to shop psychoactive substances.

Trap #4 – The Extraction Method and Lab Testing of CBD Oil

The most important thing to take into consideration when buying CBD oil is to understand what you are getting. It’s important to make sure that the manufacturer of the CBD oil is a licensed pharmacist that understands what they are doing when formulating CBD products. It’s important to check that the Hemp used is organic and certified and that the extraction method delivers the best possible product.

When extracting CBD from the hemp plant it is best to use productive extraction processes such as CO2; a low temperature, high-pressure technique. This type of technique allows the manufacturer to capture CO2 in a liquid state and efficiently draw the CBD and terpenes from the plant.

Once the extraction is complete, its is important that the company uses a third party lab to test raw compounds. This guarantees that you are getting an unbiased opinion of the CBD oil from a third party lab.

Trap 5 – Lack of Transparency on the Site You Want to Buy CBD Oil from

Before you go and buy CBD oil with any online provider it’s always best to check the fine print and the depth of the seller’s website. A reliable and trustworthy manufacturer will have no problems showing the exact ingredients of their products and also their lab tests. You don’t have to be a pharmacist to understand them, but the fact that they are willing to show you the results means that they stand behind the quality of their products.

Where to Buy CBD Oil Online?

CBD oil is paving a path for a new era of human health and wellness. Furthermore, due to the fact that it does not contain THC, it is often available in all states, including those that don’t have medical marijuana programs in place.

Great information for those who are new to CBD. For those of you who are looking for some good CBD OIL Brands, I’d say to stick with Greenroads, Charlotte’s Web, Hemp Bombs, and Purekana. They’re the best! Personally, I use Greenroads 350mg and it works fantastic for insomnia, anxiety, and pain and it’s pure CBD OIL (broad spectrum)NO THC. Depending on your condition though, you might need full Spectrum CBD OIL(0.03% THC. Doesn’t get you high) and a higher dosage than 350mg. For example if you have severe pain, seizures, symptoms from cancer or other severe diseases or whatever then you’ll probably want to go with Full Spectrum 1000-4000mg CBD OIL ..of course some people with these severe conditions still find relief from 250mg-550mg of cbd oil.. So everyone is different.. If it’s your first time, start with a low potency.. No lower than 250mg though, IMO. I started with 100mg and it does work but if you really want to feel the effects you need a higher dosage.. My dad is taking the 350mg Hemp Bombs CBD OIL and he loves it, he’s a hard working man, he does a lot of physical labor so he always comes home with really bad back pain, headaches, wrist pain, etc. And he says hemp bombs has really helped him.. Plus it’s helped him sleep really well too. TO CLARIFY, EVERYTHING I’VE SAID IN THIS COMMENT IS MY OPINION. I’M NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL. IF YOU’RE STILL UNSURE OF WHICH BRAND OF CBD OIL TO TAKE AND WHICH POTENCY THEN JUST GO TO THE CBD OIL SELLERS WEBSITE AND ASK FOR INFORMATION, IF THEY’RE A GOOD COMPANY, THEY’LL MESSAGE YOU QUICKLY.

Not all CBD oils are the same but Hemp has been used for 5000 yrs

ALL CBD Oils are NOT alike however Hemp has been used for 5000 years and the health benefits are endless. When choosing a CBD Oil most People are NOT even aware there is a Water Based-Soluble CBD option Available that is THC Free + Pet Friendly. Zilis UltraCell allows for up to 94% better absorption in our body over 4-6% of any Oil. Our body is Water NOT Oil right? But you must do the research yourself to see what is best for you. Thx CBD4Charity

  5. Suzanne Fairchild

I am trying to find a good oil for pain, both for me and my old dog. I have been giving him NutraVet 500 Hemp Oil. However, I am not sure it is working. He has had cancer, all of which was surgically removed, hopefully. However, he also has several fatty tumors, many warts and arthritis. Myself, I have spinal stenosis and other joint issues which cause constant pain when I try to walk any distance. I don’t currently take anything for myself. Price will be a consideration. Any help I can get would be appreciated.
