According to WSPA 7 News, South Carolina could soon experience a serious change in regards to their Marijuana laws. As of now a bill seeking to legalize the use of medical marijuana is advancing in the statehouse.
Tuesday was a major turning point for South Carolina as a house committee unanimously passed the bill that will now go to the full house.
While it doesn’t mean that everyone will be able to simply go to their local dispensary and pick up some weed, people will certain illnesses will gain access to all forms of marijuana. It is important to remember that current laws prohibit the use of cannabis and those caught with it could face a minimum of two years with a felony.
The bill would allow people to buy two ounces of marijuana every two weeks from dispensaries. We did the maths and that works out to be around 120 small sized joints.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed for South Carolina and hope that other states will follow.
