According to a recent article by CTV news, the number of medical marijuana users in Canada has quadrupled since Liberals won election
When first looking at the figures we weren’t expecting such a jump in medical users, but according to recently released data, medical marijuana usage has soared from 30,000 to nearly 130,000 since Justin Trudeau started running things and became prime minister.
What’s more interesting is that these numbers are expected to explode even higher throughout 2017. According to Derek Ogden, CEO of National Access Cannabis, ” I think it’s really gaining momentum. We’re seeing growth in the industry of 10-15% per month.”
The Canadian Prime Minister definitely understands the benefits of cannabis and is pushing to legalize it this year. This is expected to have a significant impact on the industry, the Canadian economy and all business that are located there.
The federal government has said it will introduce legalization legislation this spring, but it’s unknown how long it would actually take for such a bill to become law. Furthermore, according to recent data, the country seems to have mixed feelings regarding the legalization of marijuana.
A new poll shows the country sharply divided on the issue. Fifty-one per cent of Canadians said they were in favor of legalization in the online survey by NRG Research Group, compared to 33 percent who said they were in opposition and 14 percent who neither support nor oppose the measure.
If you are reading this article, then we are sure that you are all for legalization, just remember that no matter how boring they make marijuana, legalization, and regulation, it will allow Canadian citizens to chose for themselves about weed, and let cannabis entrepreneurs conduct business without the fear of persecution.
