We’re not exactly sure where the name ‘11th State’ comes from – the evaluation center is in Rhode Island, but as far as we can tell, the 11th state of the U.S. was New York? Who knows.
Maybe there’s an inside joke or terminology or something that’s gone right over our heads. Maybe Rhode Island was the 11th state to legalize medical marijuana? Bingo. That’s probably what it is.
Regardless, 11th State Consultations is a physician consultation center where patients can get a legal examination to see if medical marijuana is a recommended treatment for their condition/ailment. The state of Rhode Island has much tougher medial guidelines than those of, say, California (where getting a marijuana ID card is about as easy as ordering a cheeseburger), but if you have a legitimate case, 11th State is a great resource to get you in touch with a physician and guide you through all of the legal steps in order to get your medical marijuana approval.
Highlights: 11th State Evaluations
- Consultation facility only: the evaluation center makes it very clear that it’s NOT a health care facility, and is NOT regulated/endorsed by the state department of health. Their sole purpose is to act as an intermediate between you and a consulting physician
- Secure medical records and full patient confidentiality
- Convenient and quick appointments/consultations
Like we said, the state of Rhode Island is much tougher on their medical marijuana program than other states. In our opinion, this is the way it should be. If you’re going to legalize marijuana for recreational users, then fine. But if you’re going to say that marijuana is illegal for everyone except legitimate medical patients with a qualifying condition, then stand by your word.
Currently, some examples of qualifying conditions in Rhode Island are Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) (was recently approved as a qualifying condition in May of 2016), cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, Hepatits C, or any chronic/debilitating condition which results in severe pain, nausea, seizures, muscle spasms, etc.
Final Thoughts About 11th State Consultations
Naturally there’s a bit of a blurred line when you bring up things like nausea and severe pain, but this is hopefully where trusted facilities like 11th State can be of some service. They’re hooked up with a team of qualified physicians who understand and believe in the use of cannabis as a valid medical treatment option.
If you’re a Rhode Island resident and have been legitimately looking for a consultation to inquire about a medical marijuana card, be sure and give 11th State a call. They’re located in Providence, and will be more than happy to help/guide you through the entire legalization process, and answer any questions you may have along the way.
