The CBD market in the United Kingdom may be relatively new, but it has already proven to be a goldmine for entrepreneurs savvy enough to get in on the ground floor. Cannabidiol has already become a billion-dollar industry in the United States, as the non-intoxicating cannabinoid has been linked with the alleviation of various symptoms associated with an array of medical conditions.
Who are Love Hemp?
There is a lot of love for this London-based company, which has quickly pushed its way towards the front of the CBD queue. Love Hemp was founded by Tony Calamita and Tony Rowland in 2015, and the duo expected revenues of approximately £6 million in 2018. The brand calls itself ‘The Home of Hemp,’ and its goal is to provide Britain, Europe, and the United States with premium quality full-spectrum cannabinoid extracts from ethically sourced hemp plants. With minimal THC, Love Hemp’s products are 100% legal.
The company was formed out of a tragedy. In 2014, Rowland’s father was suffering from bladder cancer, and Tony Jr. desperately sought a cure. During his research, he uncovered CBD, and while his father sadly passed away, Tony co-founded the company in his memory. As well as selling CBD oil, Love Hemp also sells CBD water, which has become an unexpected hit.
Review of Love Hemp CBD Oil
Love Hemp’s 8% option costs £49.50 and consists of 800mg of CBD in 10ml of liquid. There are also 20% and 40% concentrations. I even located a 10% bottle containing a whopping 100 ml of liquid, or 10,000 mg of CBD, for £399.99.
My review is of the 8% bottle, which came in Natural or Peppermint flavor. As I enjoy the taste of mint, I opted for the latter option, which was a good decision as it tasted reasonably good, although the earthy undertone will not be to everyone’s taste. Love Hemp claims that it uses high-quality hemp extracts which are not mass produced. The company handpicks extracts from the best hemp fields around the world, and the CBD comes from crops grown without the aid of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides.
Love Hemp recommends that you use 6-12 drops of the CBD oil 2-3 times a day. Place the drops beneath your tongue for 30-60 seconds, and swallow to increase bioavailability. All it takes is a glance at the oil to understand that you’re dealing with a legitimate enterprise. I have used CBD oil from companies that had a yellowish color, and it was garbage quite frankly. In contrast, Love Hemp’s CBD oil has a dark green hue that looks as if it came from a healthy hemp plant.
I used 0.5ml a day, which equates to 40mg of CBD, and waited to see what would happen with my anxiety. While I am not exactly the love child of Howard Hughes and Emily Dickinson in terms of reclusiveness, I struggle in crowds until I have a sufficient level of alcohol consumed! It so happened that I had to attend a friend’s birthday party a couple of days later.
Within minutes of my first dose, I felt calmer and more relaxed. In fact, I elected to use some right before bed and had an extremely restful night’s sleep, which is NOT a regular occurrence. When I used some of the oil about an hour before the aforementioned party, I felt more at ease chatting with people without the need for Dutch Courage. There’s no question that Love Hemp’s CBD oil is premium quality.
Review of Love Hemp Water
You can purchase bottles of Love Hemp’s water in High Street health stores such as Holland & Barrett for just £0.99 per 500ml. Since brand name bottled water usually costs about the same or is even more expensive, this water is a handy way to boost your daily CBD intake while also remaining hydrated.
To be honest, I didn’t notice a great deal of difference in taste when compared with typical bottled water. This is perhaps because each bottle only contains 2 mg of natural hemp extract, which is unlikely to alleviate many – if any – symptoms of pain and anxiety. Personally, I felt nothing extra after drinking this water, although there are plenty of positive online reviews.
Where Can I Purchase Love Hemp CBD Products?
Going to the official website won’t do you much good, unfortunately. You’ll end up being redirected to a different site which doesn’t even offer the CBD oil! It is a frustrating experience, and I am surprised that Love Hemp has allowed this to happen.
I was also unable to find third-party lab testing reports on the official site, but these reports apparently exist. The founders have been interviewed by several British newspapers, so there is little doubt that the company is 100% legitimate. You can purchase the water in Holland & Barrett, along with several other stores. For better value, I recommend purchasing the 8x 1.5-liter bottles package for £11.99 from Ocado.
Final Thoughts on Love Hemp CBD
Although it is annoying that there is no way to make purchases from the official website, I had no problems with the standard of the delivery service or the quality of the packaging. For me, the CBD oil worked as I hoped it would, enabling me to feel calmer and more relaxed in a social setting. It also did an excellent job of helping me get to sleep.
One major downside is the lack of easily accessible lab reports. Until I see them, I can’t wholeheartedly recommend Love Hemp’s CBD oil, even though it looks, tastes, and even acts like the real thing. As for the water, don’t expect it to be a life-changer! There is nothing ‘wrong’ with it per se, but it doesn’t contain anywhere near enough CBD to have a noticeable effect on symptoms.
Love Hemp Pros

- The oil works reasonably quickly.
- Prompt and reliable delivery service.
Love Hemp Cons
- Official website redirects to another site.
- Not as easy to find the products as it is with other UK CBD sellers.
- The water doesn’t contain enough CBD to be effective.
