25 Best CBD Oils for Pain Relief [2018 Update]

The 2018 guide to CBD oil

Best CBD Oils for Pain Relief

It’s not easy living with pain. Whether you suffer from muscle spasms, chronic pain or arthritis finding a solution to help deal with that pain can mean the difference between a pleasant day where you can function to a nightmare of a day, just waiting to end.

Over the last couple of years, CBD oil has become a popular form of treatment for pain management. It is currently thought to be so effective, that more and more doctors are recommending it instead of traditional pain killers. The major advantage of CBD oil compared to cannabis is that it doesn’t cause the “high” feeling, and is therefore permitted in most places. (This obviously depends on the type of extraction and where you are located).

With so many companies popping up every day, we’ve done the hard work for you. We bring you the complete CBD oil guide and the top 25 brands that made our list based on CBD quality, effectiveness, customer service and of course price.

CBD Oil for Pain Relief

Cannabidiol (CBD) is now used globally for a variety of medical conditions including pain relief. This is following numerous studies proving that CBD oil can have an extremely positive impact on pain management. It has also become an alternative to those who suffer from more severe forms of pain and are forced to use opioids.

It’s important to note that CBD oil isn’t approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for any medical condition, which means that the products discussed and statements made in this article have also not been evaluated by the FDA and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Even without the FDA’s review, CBD has been receiving a significant amount of attention, even being featured on some of the top news networks who have all praised its achievements.

For example, Elixinol, currently classed as one of the worlds top CBD Oil manufacturers, has been featured numerous times in the media on sites such as CNN, The Wall Street Journal and even in health magazines such as Men’s Health.

Benefits of CBD Oil

Benefits of CBD

Apart from the fact that CBD Oil drops are extremely effective, they are also very easy to take. You simply place a few drops under your tongue and they are instantly absorbed into your system. The exact consumption methods are written on the CBD oil package, and you should always consult these prior to taking CBD.

CBD Oil is known to help treat other conditions that are related to pain. For example depression, anxiety relief, fibromyalgia, and even things like fear and stress have been shown to be responsive to CBD. Most importantly, those who suffer from chronic pain have claimed that it helps them sleep.

While the results from taking CBD oil will vary for everyone, many people’s lives have been changed for the better because of CBD:

“I have been suffering from chronic pain in my legs for years. I often find it hard to sleep. CBD oil helps with the pain management, especially as it is impossible to obtain marijuana in my state.” – Kate Summers

“I find the amount I’m taking has helped me a lot with my chronic low back pain and aching knees. I am taking far fewer opioids than before, and CBD oil has got me back on track.” – Jeff Freedman

“I had never even heard about CBD oil up until a couple of months ago. Since I’ve started treatment it has changed my life. Thank you for all the help and good vibes!!!” – Sophie Samson

How to Know if you Need CBD for Pain

To be clear, there is no one specific test, scan, or anything else of the sort that you can do to determine whether or not you need CBD oil for pain. Also, since cannabis is not yet recognized by the FDA, you unfortunately can’t really go to your doctor either and have them recommend it; until marijuana is FDA-approved, it cannot be prescribed by physicians.

So what gives, then — how are you supposed to know if you need CBD for pain? Well, ask yourself the following very simple questions:

  1. Are you in pain?
  2. Are your current medications working for you?

If the answer to these questions was ‘yes’ and ‘no,’ respectively, then CBD oil for pain may very well be a legitimate option for you that’s worth checking out.

In fact, the vast majority of current CBD users ended up switching over to the cannabis-based therapy after getting fed up with their useless, expensive, and often times side-effect inducing prescription meds. And since like we mentioned you’re not going to get a recommendation from your physician, you’re likely going to have to take it upon yourself to make the switch.

However, switching to CBD oil from a conventional medication is far from a random stab in the dark. In fact, there was a large scale (and very well-documented) survey carried out less than two years ago that looked at precisely what percentage of patients were able to “swap” their side effect-inducing meds for a 100% natural, cannabis-based therapy.

In short, the results of the survey (which were published on HelloMD and in the Journal of Pain Research) showed that roughly 42% and 46% (respectively) of participants claimed they were able to use cannabis in place of traditional medical to effectively treat their specific medical ailment. So if you’re wondering how to know if you need CBD for pain, just understand that you’re certainly not alone when considering whether or not to make the switch.

Medical Research and CBD Oil

Medical Research and CBD Oil

Numerous studies have shown that CBD can help treat a variety of medical conditions. The most well-known studies have been conducted around cancer and seizures, but other studies have also shown very promising results.

A 2011 study that focused on CBD treatment for fibromyalgia, for example, showed very promising results. 56 of 112 participants who took CBD saw a great reduction in their symptoms and overall measure of pain, while those using traditional methods hardly saw any improvement.

Moreover, scientists at the Cajal Institute showed promising results a few years back in regards to CBD and Multiple Sclerosis. They used animal models and cell cultures to find that CBD reversed inflammatory responses; within only ten days, mice that were used in the study had superior motor skills and showed progression in their condition.

However cancer, seizures, fibromyalgia and multiple sclerosis are far from the only medical conditions that research has shown CBD oil to be effective on. To date, there have been well over 20,000 published scientific articles on cannabinoids and their related effects on all sorts of medical ailments.

Generalized pain, for instance, has dozens upon dozens of high profile research and clinical studies that have been carried out in universities and laboratories around the globe. One of the most well-publicized of these studies took place back in 2008, in which results determined that “cannabinoid analgesics (pain relievers) have generally been well tolerated in clinical trials … with acceptable adverse event profiles (meaning acceptable effectiveness for practical use).

Moreover, a patient survey conducted by Project CBD, which is the world’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to making cannabis research transparent to the public, declared that “…cannabis appears to be an effective pain management tool with few negative side effects.” The study went on to say that a “…significant decrease in opiate usage among elderly patients while taking medical cannabis [was observed during trial].” In short, it has been portrayed clearly numerous times through valid and well-publicized clinical studies that cannabis is a practical option in terms of efficient pain management.

And the same can indeed be said for dozens of other ailments as well. Project CBD lists nearly two dozen published studies that have been carried out on CBD as a potential treatment for anxiety, with every one of them producing positive results in favor of cannabis as a potentially efficient long-term treatment.

Likewise, another 14 high profile studies have been carried out on CBD as a treatment for depression, 11 on CBD for insomnia and other sleep disorders, 14 on CBD for diabetes and so on and so forth. In short, there is literally no shortage of medical research or scientific evidence on cannabidiol as a potential treatment for dozens upon dozens of medical disorders and challenges.

Why CBD is Replacing Traditional Medicine as a Pain Reliever

You are likely very familiar with the dangers that prescription painkillers (and other pharmaceuticals) present. In fact, it’s estimated that the majority of CBD oil users attempt to switch to the all-natural therapy for the precise reason of kicking prescription med habits, which all too often cause an overwhelming array of irritability, sleep disruption, digestive complications, and even thoughts of suicide.

Ultimately, the reason why CBD for chronic pain has become so incredibly popular among patients is because of the fact that it has minimal side-effects. Even highly respected entities like the World Health Organization (WHO) have come right out and said that it is safe, well tolerated, and “not associated with any significant adverse public health effects.”

Moreover, they have also claimed out and out that it is “not associated with abuse potential, does not induce physical dependence, [and] is generally well tolerated with a good safety profile.”

In addition to CBD’s astounding safety levels, it is also no slouch when it comes to actually reducing pain. In fact, it’s no secret that the U.S. Government holds a patent on the compound as both an antioxidant and a neuroprotectant capable of helping with conditions like fibromyalgia, ALS, and multiple sclerosis, just to name a few.

But you don’t have to take our word for it, or even the U.S. Government’s: according to WHO, CBD oil “has been demonstrated as an effective treatment for epilepsy … [and there exists] preliminary evidence that CBD may be a useful treatment for a number of other medical conditions…”

That right there is proof in the pudding that CBD for pain management is a truly beneficial treatment method, fully capable of freeing millions of individuals from the agonies (and not to mention high costs) of pharmaceutical drug use.

CBD Oil for Pain: Side Effects

Truth be told, one of the biggest draws to using CBD oil for pain has been the fact that it has little distinguishable side-effects or contraindications with other medications. In fact, in a massive report that was published by the World Health Organization during last year’s 2017 Expert Committee on Drug Dependence, it was (finally) declared to the world that CBD is a “safe, well tolerated [compound, which] is not associated with any significant adverse public health effects.”

But come on — this has to be too good to be true, right?

Indeed, if you dig a little deeper you will find that CBD oil does have “one or two” potentially negative side effects. But they are absolutely nothing compared to the serious side effects that come routine with pharmaceutical drug use.

For example, one of the noted “side effects” of CBD oil for pain is dry mouth. Yep, that’s right – dry mouth. A side effect that can be countered with an act as simple as drinking a cup of water before and after taking the oil.

Other potential side effects include low blood pressure, lightheadedness, and drowsiness, but these have typically only occurred in patients who have exceeded doses of 1,500 mg daily for a period of 4 weeks or more; far more than the average person will need take on a daily basis for chronic pain symptoms. (In fact, the majority of CBD users claim they find an effective dose to be anywhere between 10 and 40 mg daily).

In short, if you’re wondering whether or not taking CBD oil for pain will produce any negative side effects or contraindications, studies have shown and state that they are minimal, meaning you probably have nothing to worry about. However, please bear in mind that we are certainly not physicians, and this should by no means be taken as medical advice. You should do the research.

Frequently Asked Questions About CBD Oil

What is CBD oil produced from?

Most companies that produce CBD oil extract it from hemp, leaves, stalks, and flowers. The most common extraction method is called CO2.

Is CBD oil Legal?

Since it started becoming popular roughly two years or so ago, the general consensus has always been that since CBD oil from top brands does not contain the psychoactive properties of THC, it is therefore legal. Unfortunately, its legality is much more nuanced because of conflicting federal laws and new court cases. What is clear is that in one of the most recent court decisions on the topic, Hemp Industries Assoc. v. DEA, which came out on April 30, 2018, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit found that Section 7606 of the 2014 US Farm Bill (the “Farm Bill”) preempts the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), the federal law which designates marijuana as a Schedule I substance (along with heroin and cocaine) making it illegal to possess or use. This means that when there is conflict between the CSA and the Farm Bill, the Farm Bill wins out.

This is good news for CBD because the Farm Bill allows for the legal cultivation of industrial hemp, under certain circumstances, which can be a source of CBD. But CBD can also come from non-industrial hemp, namely the marijuana plant that most are more familiar with. Therefore, whether or not CBD oil for pain is legal can be a question of which “version” of the cannabis plant it was sourced from. If it was sourced from industrial hemp, (which contains less than 0.3% THC by volume), and it was cultivated under the Farm Bill, then it is legal.

However, if it was sourced from actual marijuana (i.e. cannabis that contains more than 2% THC by volume), then it is technically illegal. Most of the CBD oil for pain that you find in dispensaries in states like Colorado, California, and Washington (as well as other states where weed is legal) will have been extracted from marijuana plants — not industrial hemp plants. Unfortunately, this means that these products are not allowed to be sold online and shipped across state lines to “non-legal” states.

However, like we just mentioned CBD oil for pain management that has been sourced from industrial hemp grown under the farm bill is in fact legal to buy and sell. The majority of the CBD brands that we cover here on this site, claim to extract their concentrates from U.S.-based industrial hemp supplies, which if true, are 100% legal since they contain negligible amounts of THC.

The important thing is that you have to be SUPER careful when selecting CBD oils. Since the cannabis industry is not FDA-regulated, there have been dozens and dozens of companies trying to get away with selling very low quality (and even potentially toxic), “snake oils” that have been extracted using harsh chemical solvents like butane and hexane. Make sure you stay away from cheap products like these, as they likely won’t work very well and more importantly, they could be damaging to your health.

Instead, what you want to look for is a quality CBD oil that has been extracted only with pressurized CO2 equipment. This provides for the most high-grade medicinal CBD concentrate, and leaves virtually zero traces of chemical residue.

Do you need a doctors recommendation to purchase CBD oil?

This depends entirely on the state that you live in . Generally speaking, if you are looking to obtain a full spectrum oil that contains THC, you will only be able to do so if you live in a recreational or medical state. To date, there are only nine recreational states and 20 states where cannabis has been legalized on a medical level.  These types of oils will often require an MMJ card or recommendation from your doctor to buy. CBD oil, on the other hand, is a different story. Especially if you are purchasing CBD that has been extracted from hemp. As of now CBD oil that contains less than 0.3% THC, is legal to buy, sell and shop to all 50 states. CBD that has been made under the Farm Bill is available for purchase without a doctors recommendation.

How long does it take for the CBD to take effect?

This depends on the person, but factors like extract and dosage play a big part . In general, at the right dosage, it typically takes between 20 and 30 minutes for the CBD effects to be noticeable. It also depends on why you are taking the CBD oil and for what medical condition.

How Does CBD Work in the Body?

CBD works in the body by activating receptors and neurotransmitters through a complex network of endogenous cannabinoids called the endocannabinoid system (ECS).

Unlike THC, which primarily binds to CB-1 receptors located in the brain, CBD works in the body by manipulating receptors throughout organ tissues, the immune system, the pain response system, the hormonal system, and other whole-body regulatory systems. Basically, since its receptors have been found to exist in virtually every cell and tissue type in the body, CBD is believed to work on every aspect of human health and behavior – from the subcellular level to the whole-body leve and beyond.

Also, since it affects different receptors than THC (i.e. receptors that are located outside the brain), CBD does NOT produce any mind-altering effects. In other words, you do not have to worry about getting high when you take CBD oil.

In fact, CBD is therapeutic in nature, and will work to manipulate bodily systems at the cellular level to return afflicted organ systems, tissue systems, and even chemical systems in the central nervous system back to a state of health and homeostasis. This is precisely why it has been capable of treating everything from mental disorders like depression and anxiety, to chronic physical ailments such as pain, inflammation, arthritis, diabetes, and a host of other medical ailments.

What does CBD help with?

The FDA does not permit us to use anecdotal evidence to affirm that CBD can have beneficial (and often curative) effects on a variety of serious conditions and diseases. That being said, we have many users who take CBD oil and report that it helps them with the challenges those conditions present. Our users suffer from a range of medical challenges including:

How to Use CBD Oil for Pain

If you’re wondering how to use CBD oil for pain, then you’re not alone; it is probably one of the most common questions that we get here at MarijuanaBreak.

However, be advised that there is no single right or wrong way to go about it, as some people have excellent results with CBD creams or other topicals for arthritic joint pain, while others find sublingual (under the tongue) drops to be the most effective for treating other forms of pain.

In general, the majority of people end up using higher-strength products for pain than they would for things like anxiety, stress, or depression. The majority of CBD oil manufacturers offer tinctures in three different “potencies,” usually in 100, 300, or 600 mg options. Many people start on a middle ground with a 300 mg option, and work your way up from there, but it is extremely important to consult with the brand you are purchasing from before consumption.

The key is to effectively gauge exactly how much CBD oil it takes to start managing your pain. If you start off right away with a maximum dose of a 600 mg tincture, you will have no idea how much of the product it actually took to treat your condition, and how much you wasted (this is also important because you do not want to exceed dosage and end up developing a tolerance to the active cannabinoids).

If your intention is to treat chronic pain (i.e. back pain, neuropathy, muscle soreness, etc), then you may want to start out with a lower dose, and then proceed from there. If you notice effective results, you can downsize the dose, or likewise you can always up the dose until positive results are achieved. The key is to only increase your dosage in small increments so that you are able to pinpoint exactly how much CBD oil it takes to treat your condition. Be advised, though, that you should not exceed the recommended daily doses that are listed on the bottle and you should consult with a physician.

Are There Other Options if you Can’t Use CBD Oil for Pain?

Unfortunately, some people either can’t use CBD oil for pain (i.e. they may not want to hold the oil under their tongue before swallowing), or they simply haven’t found it to be effective. Fortunately, there are several other options out there in terms of ways of administering the cannabis-based therapy. In other words, CBD can come in a variety of “formats” other than oil.

For instance, topical CBD creams are one of the most popular (and effective) choices for arthritis and other forms of localized pain and inflammation. Since the skin acts as an excellent semi-permeable membrane that “let’s the good stuff and keeps the bad stuff out,” rubbing CBD-infused creams (or salves, ointments, etc) into the affected area has proved to be highly effective in terms of both pain and inflammation reduction.

Likewise, CBD gummies and other CBD edibles are a great option that many people prefer over CBD oils for a variety of reasons (one of which is simply because they taste a lot better!). Also, it is true that CBD edibles can potentially pack a more “potent” punch than their oil/tincture counterparts, so this may be something to consider if you’ve been having a hard time achieving results with a sublingual (under the tongue) oil).

And lastly, vaping CBD oil with a vape pen has been another extremely effective method of using cannabidiol as a pain relief therapy for some users. While it’s not typically regarded as being stronger or “more potent” than CBD oil, it is well-regarded to be a lot faster acting. After just a few puffs of a quality CBD e-liquid, for example, you’ll likely start noticing therapeutic effects in as little as 15 minutes.

So without further ado, here are the…

While some companies seem to be more about the “cannabis lifestyle” and creating a brand, these guys pride themselves first and foremost on being experts in hemp-based, whole-body therapy. Their CBD oils and other products are formulated specifically with the purity of cannabis in mind, and are actually made 100% in Kentucky, USA, where some of the nation’s finest raw hemp is grown (they are one of the only manufacturers that we know of that has access to pure Kentucky hemp).

Moreover, their products are 100% all-natural, non-GMO, and contain zero THC. Also, the active compounds are sourced from the entire hemp plant which means you get the rich full-cannabis effects in the CBD (and other natural compounds) after they have been extracted with state of the art CO2 equipment.

Key features of MedTerra CBD oils:

  • 100% seed-to-sale operation based in Kentucky
  • Lab-tested for CBD content and purity
  • Ship internationally (as well as to all 50 U.S. states)
  • Hemp Pilot Research Program partner (meaning the raw hemp source is extracted under Kentucky Department of Agriculture guidelines)
  • Product Price Range: $49.95-$149.95

If you’re main concern in using CBD oil is purity and you actually want to feel the raw, therapeutic effects of cannabis, and also if you would prefer to support a 100% USA-based brand, then Medterra no doubt is a great option. They ship to all 50 U.S. states and sell a full range of CBD products, including gel capsules and a topical pain cream.

#13) CBD Infusionz – Quality CBD

cbd oil for pain

What makes CBD Infusionz hemp oils unique? Well, the first thing that comes to mind is they make a serious effort to inform the consumer of what CBD and the endocannabinoid system actually is, rather than simply pushing a product down your throat like a lot of other brands do.

This tells us two things: 1) the company is passionate about what they are doing, and 2) they have the knowledge and hands on know-how to make a legitimate, high-quality CBD product. In fact, every product that you purchase from them comes with verified test results so you can see for yourself exactly what’s in the stuff you’re ingesting. There are a lot of brands that claim to offer third-party lab testing, but this is the only company we know of that takes the extra step to actually include the results with every single order.

Also, in addition to their range of concentrated isolates, topical CBD creams, gummies, edibles and lozenges, CBD Infusionz currently offers three different strength oral tinctures (150, 300, and 600 mg) which are infused in high-grade MCT oil for metabolic efficiency and ease-of-digestion.

And of course, these are honestly some of the best cheap CBD oils for sale on the market, at least in our mind. While there are probably brands that are better in terms of therapeutic potency, you’ll be hard-pressed to find anything better for the same price. If you’ve been wanting to give CBD oil a shot but don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on the most expensive brands before even finding out if CBD works for you, this might be a good place to start.

#14) DiamondCBD – Pain Master CBD Oil

hemp oil for pain

Diamond CBD is one of those brands that has fully embraced the emerging CBD market, and they offer probably the most exhaustive range of legal cannabidiol products that are available for shipping to all 50 U.S. states.

In addition to their standard CBD hemp oil (which is available in 10 different strengths from 100 mg to 1,500 mg), they also offer a CBD crystal isolate (which can be used to infuse your own CBD concoctions), flavored terpene oils (terpenes are beneficial aromatic compounds from the hemp plant), a premium full-spectrum CBD hemp blend, and other branded products like “Pain Master,” “Chong’s Choice CBD,” and “Relax Extreme CBD.”

The Chong’s Choice label is a premium hemp blend that was created by legendary marijuana activist Tommy Chong. It contains 1,000 mg of infused CBD, and currently sells for $169.99.

The Diamond CBD Pain Master label is actually the signature CBD blend from retired NFL player Lawrence “L.T.” Taylor, who went public not too long ago with his advocacy for the healing capabilities of non-psychoactive hemp. This blend is specifically designed to reduce soreness, muscle and joint pain, and other symptoms of chronic pain.

Diamond CBD also offers an extensive range of other CBD products outside oral tinctures, including:

  • Vape liquids
  • Topical CBD creams and lotions
  • CBD dabs (for maximum potency and pain relief)
  • CBD for pets

Price Range: $39-$169 for the tinctures.

#15) CBD Brothers – “The Original Alternative” CBD Oil

cbd for pain

CBD Brothers is actually a European brand based out of Suffolk, England. In addition to their range of full-spectrum cannabis CBD oils (which include extracts from various indica, sativa, and hybrid strains), we love them for their community engagement and their undeniable commitment to purity and consumer transparency.

For example they were recently given a “Good Egg” award by BBC radio for their work in helping a local elementary school recover stolen iPads – a clear implication that they are in it for much more than flipping quick profits, which is more than can be said for a lot of other companies out there.

In terms of their actual products, they currently offer six different potencies of oral CBD oils, which range from the inexpensive “Green Edition” (14% CBD extract) to the premium, top-shelf “Black Edition” (30% CBD extract) which is supposed to work wonders on anxiety, insomnia, and chronic pain.

CBD Brothers make themselves widely available to answer any questions you may have about their product line, which again is a fresh relief from a lot of other “companies” out there who are seemingly impossible to try and get in touch with. You can check them out directly by visiting CBDBrothers.com

#16) Hemp Bombs CBD – “Bomb” Potency CBD Oils

best cbd

While most CBD oil products offer up about 5-7 mg of CBD per serving (or even less than that), Hemp Bombs’ max-strength sublingual tinctures provide a massive 60 mg dose in a single dropper. For many people, this will be a more than sufficient amount to help relieve symptoms like generalized anxiety and pain.

Of course, though, they offer less potent oils than that, with a product lineup that ranges from 300 mg CBD per bottle to 4,000 mg. Naturally the 4,000 mg option is the most expensive (this is the one that provides the “bomb” 60 mg dose), as it currently sells for $299. For long-term pain and anxiety relief, though, it may be well worth it if it is effective for you and helps replace your regular meds.

Hemp Bombs is based in Tampa, Florida, and in addition to focusing on the purity and therapeutic effectiveness of their products, are dedicated to establishing themselves as a top brand in the industry with a specific target audience. One of our personal favorite products of theirs is the flavored CBD vape liquids, which are some of the best-tasting CBD vape juices we’ve ever had. Check out all of the available flavors (as well as other high-strength CBD products like gummies, syrups, and “Pain Freezes”)  on the website

#17) Lazarus Naturals – Unflavored High Potency CBD Tinctures

pain relief cbd

Lazarus Naturals is another consumer conscious CBD brand that manufactures all of its oils in an in-house, “seed-to-sale” operation. This means that everything from the raw hemp supply to the CBD extraction process, to the bottling and packaging is done by Lazarus employees – the only thing that is third-party is the actual product lab testing (which needs to be done third-party if there’s to be any kind of non-bias).

In addition to being in infused in fractionated coconut oil (another term for metabolic MCT oil), all of Lazarus CBD oils are:

  • Vegan and gluten-free
  • Legal in all 50 U.S. states
  • Contain no artificial flavors, preservatives, or sweeteners
  • Price Range for Oils: $15-$75

One of the brand’s biggest claims is their “accessibility” in terms of price, and indeed these are some of the best cheap CBD oils on the market. However, it’s worth pointing out that Lazarus tinctures are not a full-spectrum hemp blend. Rather, they are CBD isolates which mean there is nothing in the blend except for the fractionated coconut oil and the active CBD compound.

Read more about CBD isolates and browse the complete Lazarus product lineup over at LazarusNaturals.com (free shipping on all orders over $50, and major discounts available to all veterans and people with disabilities)

#18) Kat’s Naturals CBD – Organic Hempseed Oil

chronic pain management by best cbd oil

Kat’s Naturals is a brand that has witnessed some serious success over the course of the last 18 months, with the claim that their CBD oil is “different” from the competition’s.

How is it different, you might ask? Well, for one thing all of their products are made from actual hemp seeds as opposed to the stems and stalks of the plant. It’s well-known that the natural oils secreted from hemp seeds are more nutrient-dense than other parts of the plant, but a lot of companies out there steer clear of using them as a CBD source because it is much easier to extract the raw material from the fibrous stalk and stems.

However, Kat’s Naturals has spared no expense in developing the technology to produce an essential hemp oil that is not only 100% sustainably farmed, but also chock-full of therapeutic quality CBD that is verified in each batch through lab testing.

Their “Best Seller” is far and away Kat’s Naturals Heal CBD, which is a high-potency oral tincture that has been extracted and processed for the specific purpose of providing whole-body/mind therapeutic relief:

  • The blend is extracted with metabolic fats that contain natural Omega-3 and Omega-6 hemp seed fatty acids and linoleic acid
  • It is formulated to help increase immunity, prevent skin aging (you can dilute it and use it topically), and promote heart health

Also, the fat-soluble CBD isolate is utilized in a precision-dose dropper bottle, which allows you to keep track of the exact amount of oil that’s required for therapeutic relief from your specific condition.

19) Endoca CBD – 15% Cannabidiol Oil Drops

cbd pain relief

Endoca is one of the original CBD brands that has been around since before the “cannabis boom” gave rise to dozens upon dozens of shady, unknowledgeable profit seekers. In fact, they’ve been in the business since 2006 – way before most people had even heard about the healing powers of CBD.

This is a small, family-run business with no controlling investors, which means they can focus 100% on their singular mission of “improving CBD production standards, providing industry-leading customer service, and making CBD available to those who can’t afford it.”

Here are a few key features of the unique Endoca CBD oil blend:

  • Sourced from 100% organic, certified GMP (Good Manufacturing Process) Danish hemp
  • Industry-leading customer care
  • Supercritical CO2 extraction methods
  • Minimum of 15% active cannabidiol (CBD) content per bottle
  • Labels and CBD percentages are guaranteed for accuracy (studies have shown that up to 88% of CBD companies mislabel their products)

Most people don’t know that it is incredibly difficult to earn a GMP certification, and Endoca is in fact the only CBD manufacturer we’re aware of that currently holds a certificate. Read more about the history of the company and browse their product line at Endoca.com to find a CBD oil that will work for you and your condition.

#20) Bluebird Botanicals – Classic CBD Hemp Oil

best cbd oil here

Bluebird Botanicals offers three different lines of their unique CBD full-spectrum hemp blend, which is 100% vegan and sourced from a raw GMO-free industrial hemp supply.

The Hemp Classic CBD Oil is their introductory-level product, and is the recommended tincture if you’re either just starting out with hemp oil and want to see how it works, or if you only plan on treating minor conditions like mild to moderate headaches, muscle soreness, or difficulty falling asleep.

The ‘Complete’ and ‘Signature’ blends are more potent, with the Signature tincture providing up to 250 mg of CBD (and other therapeutic cannabinoids) per 1 oz bottle. This blend would likely be a better option if you plan on treating more severe symptoms like anxiety or chronic pain.

Also, these are some of the lowest-priced CBD oils currently on the market, with the Signature blend coming in at just $29.95. We also love the fact that Bluebird offers smaller size options, which is a rarity among the majority of CBD manufacturers.

Their smallest option (which is available in the Classic, Complete, and Signature tinctures) comes in a ⅓ oz bottle, and is available for just $11.95 – a perfect option for someone who wants to give CBD oil a try for the first, but is not ready to drop $50+ on a full size product without even knowing whether it works.

If you do decide to give Bluebird Botanicals a try, they are currently offering a limited time 20% off coupon for all first orders – check out their products online on their official website, and be sure to use the coupon ‘firsttime’ at checkout.

21) Fab. CBD Premium Oil Drops

where to buy hemp oil for pain

The main thing that is inherently clear when scouting out Fab. CBD (which is a super new brand by the way that only just got started this year), is that they’ve made a pretty serious effort to develop a modern lifestyle brand. If you take a look at their website, everything from the web design to the brand labeling to the text they use screams modern and hip.

What does this mean in terms of the actual quality of their CBD oils? Well, probably nothing to be honest. It does, however, give you extra peace of mind to know that the people behind the brand truly seem to care about their image, and how they market themselves to customers. Moreover, given the quality and consistent science-backed information that’s on their site, it’s pretty evident that they really are the “nerdy, health nut, fitness junkies” that they claim they are.

All of their CBD products are sourced from organically grown Colorado hemp and extracted with pressurized CO2 technology, which is another sign that they’ve spared no expense in manufacturing a top-shelf oil.

In terms of price, they’re just a hair cheaper than the competition, with their 150mg tincture coming in at $39 and the 300mg at $59. They also have a popular 600mg oil, but it is currently sold out in all three flavors (Citrus, Mint, and Natural). In addition to the three CBD oil options, they also sell a 600mg muscle and joint topical cream for $64, and 750mg CBD chews for $54, but those were all sold out as well when we tried to purchase them.

22) Plus +CBD Oil Drops – A Division of CV Sciences

How to Use CBD Oil for Pain

Plus CBD Oil advertises their tinctures as being “America’s #1 Choice for CBD Products,” and that’s actually probably not far from the truth. We’re not sure exactly what metrics they used to come up with that claim, but they’re certainly up there with the likes of Pure Kana, Green Roads, and CW Hemp in terms of popularity.

Moreover, they offer a massive selection of CBD products aside from the oil drops, and being that they are an entity of CV Sciences, could perhaps be involved with one of the very first CBD-based FDA approved drugs (they are currently in the preclinical phase for the drug candidate CVSI-007, which is a chewing gum containing nicotine and synthetic CBD designed to support quitting smoking).

What this means in terms of the quality of their CBD oils (and other CBD products), is that you know you’re getting one of the most pure and rigorously tested tinctures on the market – if a brand is going to hold themselves to FDA standards, you can bet that they leave themselves no room for error.

Moreover, what’s even more impressive is their price point; at just $22.95 for their 1 oz (100mg) bottle of Raw CBD Oil drops, we truly believe they offer one of the best values on the market. The price increases to $89.95 for a 2 oz (750mg) flavored tincture, but even still that represents an excellent bargain compared to similar quality products.

23) Mary’s Nutritionals – “The Remedy” Elite Hemp Oil Extract

cbd for chronic back pain

Mary’s Nutritionals CBD products are 100% established and made in the USA, and they have been in the hemp game since 2015, right before the massive CBD popularity boom.

They’re probably most well-known for their transdermal CBD-infused patches (which you wear on your skin while the CBD is absorbed through the epidermal layer), but their oil extract drops – called “The Remedy” – have been absolute game changers for some in terms of pain-relief. Here’s what one customer had to say about the drops in regard to helping treat her infant son’s autism symptoms:

“My 3.5-year-old son has nonverbal autism … Thank you so much for making this amazing product. It is easy for me to get him to swallow this, as it tastes great. He’s been using it for four months now and we have seen an incredible difference. Thank you.”

The only potential setback, as you’ll see, is the price of Mary Nutritional’s CBD Oils – for a 12.5 mL bottle of the 500mg “Remedy” extract, for example, you’ll have to dish out a handsome $110. Whether or not you can afford to go with these premium CBD extracts is up to you, but if you do decide to try and give them a shot, you can be all but assured it’ll be worth the price.

24) 4 Corners Cannabis – “Best Genetic CBD Oil”

what is the best cbd oil

Something must be said for the ability of 4 Corners Cannabis to be able to separate themselves so well from the “CBD pack” in terms of originality and uniqueness. As soon as you venture over to their website, you’ll instantly see that they’re not like any other cannabis or hemp-based brand around.

To us, the thing that makes them so unique is their straightforwardness in terms of what they’re actually manufacturing and selling. While a lot of brands market their products as “food additives” or “supplements” for legal purposes, 4 Corners Cannabis has no fear in proclaiming the truth. That is, that they’re offering CBD oils that are the “same grade as medical marijuana, only with THC levels that are low enough to be able to legally ship to all 50 states.”

Moreover, they claim to have been working in actual CBD genetics for over 5 years, which has given them the knowledge on a molecular level to be able to formulate specific CBD tinctures depending on whether you’re aiming for pain relief, mental clarity and focus, or physical strength and energy.

Also, since they are actual growers themselves, they have 100% control over every aspect of production, from the organic cultivation to the finely-tuned cannabinoid extraction process. The only downside is that these are not the cheapest oils on the market – the basic 250mg CBD oil tincture will set you back $60, while the premium 1,000mg Avocado oil runs at a stiff $200.

25) Infinite CBD – Single Drop CBD Isolates

cbd hemp oil for pain

You might not be far off in describing Infinite CBD as having an “infinite” variety of CBD products to choose from – they’ve got everything from hemp-infused Asteroid Gummies and Antiseptic soaps, to Pet Drops and CBD “Rocket Ship” Suppositories.

Yes, you read that right — suppositories. Like the things you put “you know where.” Apparently when administered rectally or vaginally, suppositories can provide excellent CBD bioavailability straight to the bloodstream, bypassing the relative inefficiency of the digestive system.

In any regard, though, Infinite CBD has made it here onto this list because of their unique “Single Drop” isolate oils. Unlike most CBD tinctures which are diluted in the carrier oil, Infinite’s “Isolate Droppers” contain (depending on the potency that you get) 0.5, 1, 2, 4 or 8.5 mg of CBD in a single drop. This makes dosing incredibly simple and straightforward, and it allows you to actively monitor how much CBD you actually need to reach maximum efficiency.

Also, they are the only CBD company that we know of that offers terpene extracts from some of the most classic and therapeutically effective cannabis strains of all time. For example you can select terpene profiles from Jack Herer, Harlequin, Pineapple Express, Durban Poison, OG Kush, and several other strains to get that classic flavor of pure, raw cannabis flower. If we to try one brand new CBD oil out for pain relief, it very well might be one of Infinite CBD’s products, as we’ve heard too many incredible things about them to pass them up.

Their Isolate Drops come in strengths of 250mg – 1,000mg, and cost anywhere between $15 and $140, depending on potency.

    Excellent read!

  2. SJ Headrick

I looked through most of your material, but could not find the dosage required to start out for pain relief or management. I don’t quite understand the mg per drops or dropperful.

    Thank you

    1. George H

Depends what type of pain. Generally speaking the best way is to start with an average mg and work your way up. I am using the 600mg

      1. Sam Adkins

Every brand has it’s own dosage guidelines.

  3. Lin Randall

I had a bad experience buying from Pure Kana. No confirmation email. No shipping confirmation. It took over 10 days for them to ship. And their oil tasted like it had been tainted with perfume. Not the taste I’ve come to know from other companies(the natural flavor). And it did not work. Also, conflicting info about them. First, I read they were located in LA, Ca, then UK owned, but was finally shipped from NJ. Just BEWARE.

  4. Diane Shorey

I have spinal stenosis along with 2 herniated disk and 2 deterioated disk, I have been in pain for almost a year, the Dr, have tried everything, morophine, dyladid, lyrica, gabapentin etc etc and even injection nothing helps, today I purchased CBD from a reputable seller, she recommended 2 drops 3 times a day,its 1000mgs, isnt that alot for a new user? Iam really hoping this will help Iam at my witts end with this pain. Iam now weaning off of gabapentin,I hope this works

    1. Rose B

sharon wiese, If your 1000 mg bottle of CBD is 30 ml size, then there are about 1.3 mg CBD per drop. (25-30 drops per ml). Taking 6 drops per day, you are only getting 8 mg CBD per day. That is probably not enough to see results. I take a 30 mg gelcap per day as a maintenance dose. My friend was on 3400 mg gabapentin per day for nerve pain associated with shingles. She was able to ween off the gbp, but is using 150 mg of CBD per day. You shouldn’t start that high. Just keep increasing until you see results. Hope this helps.

  13. Jordan T

I suffer from chronic pain. It is associated with anxiety. Includes jaw pain due to TMJ, and severe neck, shoulder, and back pain. This helps

  14. joe katz

I feel Hemp Meds is best and really want to know how it isnt even mentioned!! RSHO is fantastic. HEMP MEDS is owned by MJNA a leader in the cbd market and the first to sell in America. CAn you review them and see if im on the money.

  15. Angela

How do you know how much to take for your symptoms, body type, etc? A local company had me do this questionnaire online and was told to take SatiMed Phytocannabinoid Drops 1200 twice a day (40 drops total) which is $159/bottle at almost a grand for 3 months. I can’t afford that working 3 jobs. I feel like they are just trying to sell me product. Can anyone recommend where I might find a dosage chart?

    1. Adam

Have you checked out our dosage article on the site. It is pretty informative

  16. Laurel Hays

Very good, well written article! Thank you so much!!

I have begun weaning off pain meds. Stopped Tramadol last week and the PureKana 300mg greatly helped with the withdrawals (yes, Tramadol IS addicting and has nasty withdrawals.) I am so sick of side effects running my life. Next will be the Morphine ER.

Is it true that a bit of the strains natural THC is also beneficial?

    1. Adam

Great to hear that it is helping you. THC can also help with pain

  17. Sandra Pereira

I have had fibromyalgia for close to 10 years. This stuff helps

  18. Chris

I am wondering if CBD oil is legal to use in NC? Would you fail a drug test? New to CBD oil and scared to use something that could cost me my job. Thanks

    1. Adam

Just make sure there is no THC in the oil you are getting.

  19. Landen K

I was in an extremely bad car accident last march. The pain killers were the worse. Since I’ve been taking CBD I’ve managed to reduce the amount of meds I’m on. Doesn’t cure the pain but it helps

    1. Joanna Scott

      How much do you take?

      1. Landen K

I am currently on the 1000mg and it is working well.

  20. Barbara Pruitt

I really need something for anxiety and severe insomnia. Is th er re specific CBD oil for this. I also have chronic pain.

    1. Adam

They all work well for anxiety.

  21. Sid W

CBD is amazing for pain. The wife has been using it for the past year. It helps

    1. Lorry Welsh

Lovely to hear Sid, I too use the full spectrum stuff

      1. Nancy G

Been using purekana lately for lower back pains. Works well.

  22. John

my husband has dementia from a severe head injury, like the football players, he also has severe chronic pain from working construction for 40 years, he has been opioids for many years, we just don’t know what to try. I would love to get him off pain meds, just so he has a better quality of life. but I don’t know where to start or what cbd to buy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    1. Adam

Have you tried any on this post

  23. Slbtrb79

I have been on high amounts of opioids for 17 years( 640mg er oxycontin daily and 360 mg of oxycodone for breakthru pain daily. I’m 57 and do regularly physical therapy 4 times a week. Had vertrbra fractures, herniated discs, multiple surgeries and procedures. Could not walk for about 6 months back then in 1993, when injuries took place. When Insurance stopped paying for meds(2015/16), I took myself off these meds against medical advice. Was not going to pay this kind of money and hurt my family financially. I did accomplish getting off these and I thought I was going to die. But now I have been off 18 months. I do miss the pain relief from these meds, but not the side effects. Thank you for your very informative site. Will give some of these products a try. Thanks again for your review. I live in West Virginia. They passed medical marijuana, but dispeneries won’t open until June/July of 2019. In the meantime will try the CBD oil without the thc. Thanks again for your thorough info. Slbtrb79

  24. Rich

Has anyone used CBD for restless leg?

    1. William Green

Yes, it helps to some extent. But it won’t cure the condition obviously.

  25. Marci

My daughter has Cronic Schizophrenia and has been on pharmaceutical medication for several years. We are currently in the process of weaning her from Zyprexa to something with less side effects but I have read the withdrawal symptoms are horrible. She already uses CBD but I would really like to get her the Charolette’s Web CBD. We live in Nevada. Can I order Charolette’s Web online? Or do you have another recommendation for this illness? Thank you in advance. Marci

  26. Praneet Mazzia

Thank you so much for this article and the content on your website. Even though my English is not so good, I take the time to read them. It has given me much more knowledge about CBD. Thanks

    1. Willie P

Agree! Great informative article. The first section about the CBD was most informative for me

      1. Laura Sanders

Came across this article after typing in best cbd oils. Great info. I have only heard of the top 5 brands.

  27. Heaven

Any knowledge of Pinnacle CBD? My ex husband picked this up in Alabama and it’s supposed to be a full spectrum CBD but I can’t find anything on them as to how it’s made where it comes from etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

  28. Bill parr

What are your takes on Kannaway CBD oils?

  29. Josh T

This is the most comprehensive article I’ve seen yet. Great stuff and love CBD!

  30. joe goodman

Does it really works? How many drops to a bottle

    1. Sandy Peterson

I’ve been using the first one on this list (600mg). It’s been helping with my acute pain. For those who are in more it would be best to get a higher mg.

  31. Amber

Does anyone know anything about Prime My Body Hemp Oil?

    1. Adam

      Never heard of them

  32. Alan D

I had to try 3 different brands before I found one that worked for me. Is this normal?

    1. Adam

It can be. Many factors come into play, the brands you purchased from, your personal health, genetics, the condition you are trying to treat. Each brand extracts the CBD slightly differently. Some are better than others.

  33. Sue Voorhees

My employer does drug testing and I can not afford to lose my job. So you are saying the CBD oil could show up in the urine drug testing?

    1. Adam

It depends on the dosage, the brand you purchase from and how often you are taking it. Most CBD oils shouldn’t appear but it’s important to make sure you are purchasing without THC.

  34. Jody K

I love the peace that it brings. I love that it’s non habit forming and non psychoactive.

  35. Ray Gordon

Excellent article. Have a happy 4:20 everyone. I found this 20% coupon “420DAY” for purekana. Hope it helps anyone here.

  36. Wendy

I am in the research stage of all this and I’m wondering about diamond cbd oils. An acquaintance uses that brand for Fibromyalgia pain and other symptoms and has decent luck with it. Any official opinion on Diamond? Thank you!

    1. Adam Wilson

Never tried it, but the ones here on the list are quite well known.

    2. Jennie

I have used diamond cbd for about 6 months now and love it. Due to new laws in my state, I am having difficulty purchasing more and found this article. I am going to try one of these brands.

  37. Carla Deltoro

Works for back and acute pain. Even can work for day to day pain. Not sure about serious injuries.

  38. Suzi bryant

How does Hempworx rate? I have been taking it for about a month, doesn’t seem to be helping. Thinking about trying CW oil.

    1. Sally Harris

I heard that Hempworx is a pyramid scheme type business with low end product. Any of the above are quite good.

      1. Caryn

HempWorx is a direct sales business, meaning the founders of the company choose to put their money into a compensation plan for their affiliates instead of spending it on advertising and overhead. The product is by no means low end. The hemp is grown on a farm in Kentucky and immediately dried upon cultivation to avoid contaminants such as mold. They use a C02 extraction process, and every batch is tested for CBD compounds, THC, terpenes and contaminants like mold and heavy metals before being released. The company also offers a 30-day money back guarantee.

I personally have been using HempWorx since late January after a back injury and resulting medications left me severely debilitated. I was in bed 20+ hours per day, and tried CBD oil out of desperation. Today I am off all pain meds and muscle relaxers and my blood values have improved tremendously. My A1C went from 8.3 in January to 6.0 in April. My cholesterol decreased and my doctor advised me to discontinue the statin I had been prescribed in January (and never took because of the side effects). In March, my asthma doctor discontinued my maintenance inhalers and now only has me monitoring my peak flow and keeping a rescue inhaler on hand which I have not had to use as of this date. My blood pressure is on the low normal side now … it used to run high normal to high. My blood sugar is stabilized. I sleep better, have more energy, and generally have a better outlook on life than I did three months ago. You don’t get that from a pyramid scheme, and I wasn’t getting it from prescription med. The benefits didn’t happen overnight; most changes were gradual, but I’ll take that over sleeping my life away any day.

  39. James C

Beat having to take meds and their terrible side effects.

  40. Karen

Does anybody have any experience with using CBD oil for COPD? I have been doing a lot of research for the last few weeks and have found a lot of these brands you list seem to be very good. Desperate to try something as prescription meds are not working and are just screwing up my body. Need to breathe!!!

    1. Jeff Y

My wife uses the first one. It helps her relax which helps with the symptoms. These oils won’t cure it, but they can help

  41. Tonda

    I am wondering if I can take CBD… I am a liver transplant recipient…can I take it?

    1. Kathy

I would ask your transplant doctors if this is something you’d be able to use. I wouldn’t take the word of someone off of the internet. It wouldn’t be worth the risk. Good luck!

      1. Gretchen

        Kathy: GREAT advice!!!

Tonda: As a transplant patient, you cannot take any risks. I am a Registered Nurse & a HUGE advocate of medical marijuana & CBD. That said, PLEASE do not add or change any medications without speaking to your transplant physician first.

  42. Jay S

I get mine delivered to Texas. The state is so backwards at least I can have this!

  43. Danae Hall

Thank you for the awesome list! I tried several of the products and Nuleaf Naturals was the most effective for me. They also had free USPS priority mail shipping which was great

    1. Adam

      Great to hear. Thank you

      1. Arnold Sims

For me Nuleaf did not work. I suppose that is why it is at the bottom of the list, or maybe it is just individual. I am now on the purekana 600mg for anxiety. So far so good.

        1. Lori Brown

Me too. Been using purekana for 2 months. Great brand

  44. Greg Hardin

This must be one of the best CBD oil round ups I’ve seen so far. Great info and awesome site!

  45. George Estey

cbd is good for pain, anxiety, arthritis and a wide range of other medical conditions. Don’t let the docs tell you otherwise. I use it for acute pain. It helps reduce the meds.

    1. gail

I must be buying from the wrong place or maybe all 4 places- I have so much cbd oil that does nothing but taste like vegetable oil. I’ve gone up to 500 mg and still no help. I can’t even afford to try 1000mg and have it do nothing . Overall I’ve spent at least $300 – I’m a working class hero I could have done something better with the money But I had hope. Are there some people that it just doesn’t work for? All the reviews are amazing. I wish it did that for me. I don’t ever see bad reviews which makes me wonder. I am just white knuckling it as I refuse to take anymore pills.

      1. Adam

Hi Gail, CBD is very subjective. What can work for one may not work for another. Also it depends what you are trying to treat, your general health and genetics. What’s your medical condition. For anxiety and stress 300mg and higher tend to be effective, for pain a higher mg may be required. Maybe you can give the community here some more information. One last thing. CBD isn’t a miracle pill and for some people it simply doesn’t work.

    2. Renee

My mom suffers from a chronic neurological condition called cervical dystonia which causes her neck to be in constant spasm. Very constant pain. Anyone familiar? If so, any recommendations. She’s prescribed Vicodin which she takes 3times a day but eventually it stops working and she has to get it all out of her system for weeks before starting up again. She also gets quarterly Botox injections in her neck.

  46. Kristina

I read through this post and the different recommended Brands and still don’t know which brand to get. There seems to be a huge price difference in the different brands yet they are all listed as the top 10 best. Looking for something for pain. Just wondering if anybody here has tried CBD essence.

    1. Tamika

I usually use Hemplucid. It has helped me the most with my pain. I tried thought cloud as well, but honestly think hemplucid was best for me. Anyone else use them?

  47. Jerry Green

    Excellent roundup!

  48. Steve

Looking for cbd that will a pass a test. Any such thing any where? I have arthritis and am also subject to testing. DEA man says some can be safe if made from the correct part of the plant. The other part is russian roulette. Thanks for any help or info.

    Steve C.

    1. Adam

Hi Steve, CBD can definitely help with Arthritis. Just make sure you are getting an oil that has no THC.

  49. Linda

How does Herban Mother rate ?

    1. Adam

      Never heard of them. Sorry

      1. Andrea

How is plus cbd oil by Cannawest….I bought it at a heath food store for 35.00. 1mg, 2 sprays, non gmo, gluten free, and was told no thc. Need it for fibromyalgia.

        1. Adam

If it didn’t make this list, you know why 🙂

  50. Barbara Self

For me CBD is a very interesting way to reduce the pain out without getting the munchies or spinning out in my own brain.

  51. Noel Flynn

Works for me. I suffer from terrible pain in my left shoulder. It makes it more tolerable.

  52. Amy Moreno

This is the most informative and accurate post I’ve found so far. Tried three of the bottles on the list and they are good. I’m am not to keen on the topicals, but that is just me. For those who are looking for some good oils, this post covers them all. Good job

    1. Diane Johnson

I agree. This is a very comprehensive post. Just watch out for a company called Sky CBD. They are not on this list, but I ordered from them and never got my bottle.

  53. Maggie Pen

Been using CBD oil for already 4 months. I’ve only got good things to say about it. Helps with anxiety and acute pain. My husband and I both use it.

    1. Susan Bell

I also use it for pain and anxiety. Great stuff. Just found out about cbd 3 months ago.

  54. Kelly

I am very new to all of this and need some info on what to take for my severe fibromyalgia, arthritis, acid reflux, depression, anxiety, stomach issues, back pain, obesity and interstitial cystitis ? I go to a pain management center and they do drugs testing so I don’t want to get kicked out for taking anything but I need something that actually works.so I’m scared to try it and I really need to ASAP.plz help.any info on what to take is needed.I want to try it as soon as possible.ive had these issues since I was 3 yrs old and now at almost 49 have suffered greatly.these pain pills are horrible amd making my bladder condition (I.C) worse so if this stuff works without getting me kicked out of my Drs then I can actually talk to them and then possibly go off the pain meds completely.does it cause weight gain?

    1. Adam

Hi Kelly, so I will try to address all your problems.
      1) It shouldn’t cause weight gain
      2) You seem to suffer from a wide range of medical conditions. CBD will not help all of them. It will probably ease the pain and help with anxiety. It’s not a miracle cure but it does help. If you are a chronic pain suffer you may need THC, which will appear on a drug test.
The best way to go about it, especially if you have frequent testings is to contact the company you are thinking of purchasing from and ask them all these questions. Every oil is slightly different and it also depends a lot on your medical condition and genetics.
How ever you decide to start, take it slowly, low doses at first and then gradually increase. That way you can see the effects.
Hope that helps and reach out to us if you need more information

    2. Christy

I just started using it and I have actually been losing weight.

      1. Sirrell Sirrell

I’ve heard it helps with blood sugar..maybe thats helping you to lose weight? Just a thought.

    3. Meg

Oh man! I think I found my long lost twin. Seems like we have the same symptom list. If you toss in PTSD, POS, bipolar disorder, and heart issues you’ve got me pretty much nailed.
I’ve been vaping 1000mg cbd oil for a few months and I have noticed it takes some of the edge off. I’m looking into more alternative treatments because my traditional meds have slowly stopped working. Opioids have never helped with my pain, they only make me sick.
Using cbd until my Dr finishes the training needed to help me with medical marijuana. It’s rough and I sympathize. Your situation sounds so hard.

  55. Sara N

I suffer from severe neuropathic pain from a spinal cord Anuerism/injury. It is constant 24/7 and has been since it happened in 2002. All of the products on this list are good quality. But does anyone have a recommendation for which one to choose for the neuro range of pain? The new opioid laws have left my days even worse than before so I am hoping this can give me some relief. Thank you for any feedback and recommendations!!!

    1. Ally

Is anyone aware of a good CBD topical to treat neuropathy symptoms of burning feet and hands?

  56. Willie Bradley

I take pure CBD oil daily (no THC) and it has helped to remove a significant edge of the pain. I can finally function normally

    1. James Given

Likewise, been using the purekana 600mg for the past 3 months. Great product. These bottles aren’t cheap but worth it.

  57. Josh R

It has done wonders for the pain in my legs. Going into my 3rd week of taking and so far so good.

    1. Andy M

Using the drops to help with the pain. Was in a work accident last year. It helps

    2. Melissa

      Which product are you using?

  58. Kathy

    Hi all,
Can anyone recommend the best CBD oil for anxiety? My daughter has been on benzos for years and wants to get off. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

    1. Adam

Have you checked out any of the brands on this page?

  59. Barbara Massay

Was taking so many painkillers.. But been on cbd 600mg twice a day and the improvement is amazing.

    1. George P

Me too. I love weed and these oils

  60. Terry

I have Afib and a valve issue. I sometimes I have freeway anxiety driving. Will this be compatible/helpful? I take BP med no other RX….just want to know about the Afib and driving anxiety with CBD oil. Lots of info out there, not sure which one to buy. Thanks

  61. Eric

Hi! I deal with low back issues after having 2 surgeries. My neck is also screwed up from a car accident and I feel like crap everyday, all day. I bought the highest dose Pure Kana vanilla flavored and it really took away alot of inflammation and I felt pretty good. The next bottle I ordered was the same except it was the natural flavor. This bottle doesn’t compare to the first bottle. It doesn’t seem to be working very well. Does anyone know if the product stays the same with each batch produced or can the potency fluctuate a bit?
Thank you for any input! Eric

    1. Larry K

I use the natural for pain and it works pretty well. Have you tried to contact them, they are quite repsonsive

  62. Mattie Laforest

This is an awesome product for insomnia. Suggested and recommended

  63. Nathan P

I was in a horrible car accident. Getting better thanks to these oils. It helps with the pain. I vape and take the drops under my tongue. It provides relief. Depending on the brand, some of them taste good as well.

  64. Jammie Griffin

I’ve been using CBD for fibro for 2 years. It helps. THC helps even more but if you can’t get it then CBD is better than most pills I’ve had.

    1. Fibromyalgia Nurse

I have severe fibromyalgia but am a nurse and we get random drug tested so I tried a local cbd isolate tincture 1000mg, I’ve taken tons of it over the last 3-4 days and get nothing but a headache and diarrhea. A patient of mine told me of CWHemp but their delivery process is too long, I was willing to try even with the chance of thc in it. What is a good brand that doesn’t have huge amounts of thc with fast delivery?

      1. Kim

I have read so many reviews, and I’m still very confused LOL. I have had two craniotomy’s for a glioblastoma brain tumor. I just want to know which one would help.

  65. Kelly V

I tried CBD for a while just didn’t work for me

  66. Charles Matias

So to all those who think that this is a miracle cure. It is not. It does work, but it will not cure your condition, unless it is acute. I will testify though that I’ve been using it for the past year and it helps to manage my pain. Some days are amazing, some days are not, but overall it is much better since I’ve been taking the drops. I would recommend but you have to be realistic about it. I have also found it to have a positive impact on my general health

  67. Robby sides

People need to wake up! Most people i know are shoving so many man-made pills down their throat that have so many side-effects. Sad.This stuff is natural. Just go for a good brand and be patient. It helps. And Legalize weed!

    1. robin

totally agree with you . doctors give you meds for everything the side effects from them are horrible . then you have to take another pill for the side effects and it goes on and on.they don’t want you to use the natural stuff because the med companys would go bankrupt. I have always heard that for every disease there is a plant that will cure it or help

  68. Daniel Silvis

I’ve found that I need THC for it to be effective but i do know many people that use these oils and it helps them.

    1. D.j.

I agree a certain low about of the works best.Which ones include thc in them?

      1. Adam

You can only get THC oils if you live in a state that permits it.

  69. Stacy A

I swear by anything that is made from CBD. I use it for neck pain. My husband uses it for lower back pain. A few drops in the morning and I am like new.

    1. Adam Cole

      Me too!

    2. Lesa Gonzalez

How much does one take for chronic pain?

      1. Adam

Depends on the brand, you’re condition and general health.

  70. Carol Stewart

Doctors they found a three 3mm fractures threw my spine very painful and debilitating. I had enough of the pills. CBD has been helping to deal with the pain.

    1. Adam

      Stay healthy Carol

    2. Jami

What brand did you go with?

      1. Carol Stewart

Purekana but the high dose one

        1. Elizabeth Cornish

For those using CBD oil for pain what miligram do you use?

          1. Adam

Elizabeth, check this out. Hope it helps: https://www.marijuanabreak.com/how-to-choose-the-right-strength-cbd-oil-beginners-guide/

  71. Ryan H

Had knee surgery a while back and even though I am fully recovered it still flares up during the winter. Been using CBD lately and it seems to help. I am finding it much easier to walk

  72. Leroy Vargas

Been taking cbd for ptsd Anxiety, depression, and migraines. Was using before pills but the ones that help the most are addictive. I know this is a safer alternative to pills.

    1. Carla

May I ask what strength you use and how often? I am in need of back and hip surgery and have suffered migraines for 39 years. Meds have killed one of my kidney’s already. I’m getting desperate. Thanks.

  73. Jody Smith

I suffer from back pain, but I know from friends that are using CBD oil, whether you suffer from other forms of pains, it can really help. Be realistic though. It’s not going to cure your pain, simply make it more tolerable.

  74. Marie

My husband has severe trigeminal neuralgia. What would be the best way to start a CBD journey for pain management?

    1. Adam

Hi Marie, It depends where you live. If you live in a recreational state then you might be able to get a THC/CBD oil, otherwise you will only be able to go for a CBD oil. In your case you would probably need the higher potency to ease the pain. In any case, which ever oil you go for be sure to contact the company beforehand to explain your situation. They will be able to match the exact potency and oil to your condition.

    2. Peter

Buy it over the internet. I had 7 vertebrae fused in my neck 3.5 years ago, which popped up as a problem when my lower back was so bad that after 20 years of drugs, injections, and booze I was ready to get that operated on. Was in agonizing lower back pain in addition to the post-cervical operation pain. Two sprays under the tongue and 5 minutes later it was gone. Haven’t even taken an advil since, stopped drinking too. I spray twice a day, and when I don’t, pain comes back after a couple days, so I know it is working. No side effects whatsoever!

      1. John J

I have very similar probs 6 in neck (5 surgeries) and 3 discs in low back – seriously considering surgery (REALLY don’t want to). So, what product and dose works best for you? Please respond to my email [email protected] thanks for the info.

  75. Cara

Hi! I’m new to cbd oils but I’ve suffered from chronic nerve pain on my side, pain in my ears, and severe tension headaches. At it’s worst, I can’t function and am bedridden. Which of these brands would work best universally for all my ailments? :/

    1. Adam

Cara, honestly speaking there is no best. It’s a question of whatever works for you. It depends on your general health, potency, the brand and genetics. There are a few good ones out there, some of which are listed above but you’d have to see what works for you. What we can tell you is that for chronic pain you’d probably need a stronger potency. Let us know if you need more help

  76. Susie

Would you say that the Purekana works better for pain or anxiety? I’m trying to stop taking either my pain meds or my anxiety meds and have to decide on one as they can’t be taken together. I need an alternative for pain or anxiety, hopefully both so I can eventually stop taking every pill.

    1. Adam

They work very well, but it’s important to understand the mg you need. It depends on your condition. For example you may need the 600mg. You should get in touch with them

      1. Dennis S

I’ve been using purekana for 2 months. They make a good quality product. Much better than other oils I’ve tried. In regards to the amount, Adam is right. I tried the 300mg and the 600mg. I found that the 300mg was enough for me, but I do think it depends on your condition, finances and how it effects your body. Which ever you decide to use, stay healthy.

  77. John Crane

So I normally wake and bake which helps me get through the day. I use CBD in the evening as it helps me relax. I found that I sleep much better since I’ve been using it

    1. Diane

what do you mean by wake and bake?

      1. TR Smith

Wake: Get out of bed in the morning
        Bake: Fire up a reefer
Great way to start the day.

  78. Larry T

I have chronic pain in my knee from a childhood injury. I have recently found CBD. It’s good, but i still smoke a joint every now and then to ease the pain.

  79. Carolyn Baker

I’ve found that the lower mg are good for mild conditions and acute pain, the higher mg are much better if you are suffering. That’s my experience

  80. Jamie Withers

I was mainly using non-steroid anti inflammatories for my pain. Recently switched to CBD oil. It works wonders.

  81. Angel

How long does it stay in the system? Does it show up in a urine drug screen?

    1. Adam

Angel, while most oils should appear in a drug screen there is always a chance. Remember that they contain traces of THC, unless you are getting a pure cbd oil. It is also a question of how much you take and how long before your test. Again, depending on the oil, it shouldn’t appear but there is always a chance. That’s the honest answer

    2. Chas

This is legal no THC in it so there for no worries ! It’s sold most all vape stores and some vitamin stores. Do your studies before buying so you know if it’s a great brand !!!

  82. Glenn R

I was vaping CBD for a while, until I started using the oil drops. I love them and they help with so many different conditions.

  83. Regina Davis

Been using CBD oil for a wide range of problems for the last year. Once you hit 50 you start to feel it. I’ve always smoked pot, but lately I’ve been switching over to the oils.

  84. Greg Howell

I’ve been on every possible pill from valium to motrin. Nothing comes close to this stuff

    1. Lori warner

What brand do you use and how much per day do you take? I’m finding that I don’t know how to tell if a company is on the up and up because I’m not using it for pain, I’m using it for inflammation and diabetes and you don’t feel the effects like you will with pain. I don’t want to throw any more money away. Thanks, Lori

  85. Sheryl Myers

CBD is fantastic. I have suffered from chronic back pain and depression for years now and this product does the trick

  86. Steven Snow

If you live with Arthritis you know what it is to live in constant pain and anxiety. It just never ends. I was taking 5 pills a day before I was introduced to CBD oil. It’s literally a little miracle in a bottle.

    1. Jane Edenfield

Steve Snow-what brand are you using?

  87. Jerrod Moody

Been suffering from pain and anxiety for over 12 years. I think i’ve taken every medication possible. Recently started on the CBD route and I’m impressed. Even my doc was shocked by the results.

    1. Sheila K Morgan

What mg and dosage did u start at?
Do you keep increasing gradually? How expensive would a one month supply be?
      Thanks, appreciate your input… 🙂

  88. Christy Harris

CBD works for me but I know that some also require THC. It helps me with chronic pain

  89. Kelly Paul

Unlike other medications I’ve found comfort in CBD oil. It has made a remarkable difference for me. I take it for lower back pains. Sitting in front of a computer all day long doesn’t help. Happy that its also natural

  90. Theresa K

I use CBD oil for Gastric pains. It especially helps me in the evening when my acids are high.

    1. Brenda

I agree, CBD has helped tremendously with my IBS. If I start to get sick or feel like i will throw up CBD stops it instantly!

    2. Andrea

Hi can anyone tell me the best CBD brand for crohns flare ups and gastric inflammation?
      Andrea

  91. Rachel Callen

I’ve been using CBD oil extract on a daily basis for nearly a month and it is the most effective treatment I’ve found for treating pain in my neck and shoulder due to osteoarthritis and chronic inflammation

    1. Sheree White

Can someone share the dosage they take to treat pain. I have a bottle of cbd oil 100 mg. thanks!

      1. Adam

Depends what you are trying to treat. 100mg may not work for pain. It is normally geared towards mild conditions. Also depends on the brand you are using.

      2. Sherri

Sheree – Get the PureKana 1000mg drops and go full dose. You can always scale back to see if smaller doses have the same result. My 17 year old son has debilitating headaches from sports related concussions and he uses at least 1000mg to help manage the pain and symptoms of anxiety (began after the injury… even though the doctor can’t confirm or deny it is related). My only regret was not knowing about CBD sooner! Good luck!

  92. Robert Purnell

Definitely helps Arthritic Back. Taking CBD helps in the morning to get going…Only drawback I’ve found is sometimes i run out 🙂

  93. Deborah

I suffer from lower back pains. It started after the birth of my first son. Somedays the pain is terrible. I use CBD to make it more tolerable.

    1. Kathy Landers

BUYER BEWARE!! DO NOT purchase from Optimal Choice! Ordered a bottle and received 1 week after. Found it didn’t work for me and cancelled, was charged $1.95 cancellation fee. But! because I didn’t cancel within the 2 week period from DAY OF PURCHASE I was charged $79.99 for another bottle that I will not be getting, and they will not give me a refund. So essentially, I had 1 week to see if it worked! Now, some people might not see results for 2 weeks to 30 days, so if you don’t see results, don’t expect a refund because you won’t get it. Very deceitful company! Stay away!!

      1. Marijuanabreak

Thank you Kathy for the detailed comment. While they are not on this top 5 list and probably never will be, thank you for warning the community. Stay awesome

        1. Megan Smith

New to this whole cbd thing. Can someone give me the best brand

          1. Adam

That depends on your general health and what you are looking to treat

      2. Katherine Nielsen

My sister ordered from Optimal Choice but hasn’t used the product yet. Were you able to get any relief from it?

      3. Lisa

You may want to double check with your bank. I ran into the same issue and they continued to charge my account, even after the fact. Bank had to get involved. Had to cancel card….really a big hassle for me.

        1. Adam

It’s a shame that there are some companies out there that scam people. Thanks for the info Lisa. To the rest of our readers, check out our reviews. We try to keep them as up-to-date as possible.

    2. Mary

I had terrible. Back pain , I figured it was from having 3 boys n then my sister-inlaw said she had fibromyalgia. So I went to a arthritis doctor after doing several test he prescribed Elavil. Generic amitriptyline for me . Everybody is different. My sister in law. Only needed 25 my. And she is about 30# more that me . I ended up on 50 mg. They have come out with meds for fibromyalgia, but I am sticking w the amitriptyline. All the new medication have s MANY side effects now

  94. Michael B

I suffer from nerve pain. It’s terrible and awful to live with. I take CBD in the morning and fire up one at night. The combination really helps.

    1. Tina amador

Michael.. I suffer from fibromyalgia and neuropathy due to diabetes from head to toe 100% over my whole body and living in severe pain since you have nerve problems where did you find the best stuff and does it work well

  95. Michael Austin

CBD is great but I have to use the 1000mg for the amount of pain that I’m in . It helps!

  96. Marvin Howe

I take two drops in the morning and two at night. Keeps me focused all day at lets me sleep at night.

    1. Michele

Wow, wow thanks a lot my friend praying for you and me as well really working on renewing my mind and this will definitely help thanks for telling me that you are such a beautiful person hahaha

    2. S. Youn

Which brand are you using that two drops twice a day works for you! Hopeful it might work for me too!

      1. Marvin Howe

I think it depends on your condition. At least that is what I read. Not sure if my dosage will work for you. I also light one up every now and then. For day to day I use the first one on this list and top it up with some actual bud.

  97. Patricia Irwin

I bought CBD oil for my husband’s sore back and he can’t believe how effective the oil is.

    1. Carla Morse

Hi. I don’t have much money to try different brands and I know each brand works different for different ppl. But am just curious what brand you bought. Thank you. Glad it’s helping your husband. Praise God.

  98. Alden

It works great for the mind, body and soul

    1. Camellia Norton

It sure does. I’ve been using CBD oil for the past 3 years. It has changed my life. I feel more alive. I am a much better parent and I’m finally off the meds

  99. Bernice McDougal

It’s been a year now since I started with CBD. It’s made so much of a difference in my life. I am now able to wake up and start my day without spending two hours icing and heating my side just to get moving.

  100. Rose Waterman

I bought my first bottle of CBD 1 year ago. At the time I was constantly on Advil and Vicodin. CBD helps with the pain and my liver says thank you

  101. John Waters

I have always had problems falling asleep due to leg pains. This helps me relax

  102. Josh R

I have been using purekana every morning for the last 30 days. My overall health has improved and I am feeling less tired.

    1. Douglas Perry

Just got mine. Hoping it will help with at least some of the pain I feel from my two herniated discs

    2. William Moffett

I am also feeling much better lately. More relaxed. Hope it stays this way.

  103. Vivien

I recently tried this and I’m quite satisfied. 🙂

  104. Joseph M

My work requires me to stand quite a lot. Over the years it has affected my back. CBD helps to control the pain

  105. Norma Franks

I have recurring lower back pain due to slipping on wet steps when I was 17. The pain can be so bad that I have ended up in hospital for 3 days on pethidine injections and very strong painkillers. I find that CBD helps with the pain. It doesn’t cure it but makes living with it more manageable

    1. Tudie Ryley

I have terrible chronic back pain from several causes and curious what doses of CBD Oil works for you? And does it have any THC in it? If so..how much?

  106. Donald J

I have must less joint pain at a lower cost than the meds my doc prescribes

  107. Megan

Hi Im curious why you haven’t mentioned any of the Kannaway products? They are really big out here in Colorado and from what I’ve heard basically created the CBD oil industry as far as extraction methods and quality standards. Is there a reason why they didn’t make it to your list?

    1. Brooke

I have extreme chronic pain throughout, severe sciatic nerve pain and low back pain. I’ve tried a few different cbd brands of tinture, cream, and vape and ive had no luck with anything. For any of you that struggle with pain like this and have to take pain meds for pain what brand and mg of cbd do you get. I need help please

      1. Adam

It could be a matter of dosage. If you are in severe pain, then the 300 mg may not be enough. Also CBD by itself may not be enough for you. You probably need THC involved. Just a thought.

  108. Use it to relieve back spasms and a sleep aid. Great stuff

  109. Kim B

I use CBD cause it helps with the pain. It also doesn’t show up on my tests.

  110. Martin Jones

Hi..Thanks for sharing such type of information. It really good to hear about greenroads products. I’ve used it for anxiety and other health related issues and it worked really well. I mean I’ve no words to describe it. Recently, I’ve found that CBD oil is also a good option for inflammation. After this post, I am feeling proud on my choice that I’ve made the right decision.

  111. Mary Conway

I think that pain is subjective. For example, my husband and I both suffer from pain. Old age. We recently got 2 bottles listed here. One worked better for me and the other for my Fred. We love nature

    1. Trina Simon

I need to know what is the difference between CBD and Marinol? used to be free on Medi-Cal but now it’s super expensive. I don’t think it’s that great for pain. My doctor recommended cbd. I got arthritis at 24 so it’s advanced now because I’m 71, mainly in my feet and knees, the bones are deformed in my feet so I can barely walk . At 50 I got fibromyalgia so I’m in pain in my whole body. And what about Kratom ? CBD is too expensive . The difference between these three are not clear to me !

  112. Keith Stone

I used to work in construction until one day I fell and wrecked my leg. At the age of 50 it took me nearly 3 months to get back on my feet. Until today I have shooting pains, but CBD helps me a lot! Not sure what I would do without it.

  113. Kevin Knoxx

I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthiritis. The pain is terrible. I’ve been taking CBD under my tongue for over a year. It takes off the edge and reduces the pain. Makes it manageable.

    1. Debbie

Hi how much do you use and how often?

    2. Pam

I have rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and back surgeries. What oil did you purchase and how much did you take for relief? Thank you

  114. Kenneth Renaud

I have been using CBD oil as an alternative to ibuprofen for my arthritis. Been using it for about a month now and it really works

  115. Carson H

I had a torn rotator cuff in my shoulder. It was messed up pretty bad. CBD has helped me deal with the pain.

  116. Chase Blair

When I first came across CBD I was experiencing severe upper back pain. I was unable to bend or get up from a seated or laying position without increasing pain. I also had problems sleeping because of the intense pain. After 2 weeks started to sleep throughout the night. The pain isn’t gone but it has significantly reduced.

  117. Paul Hauge

Living with Arthritis is a pain to say the least. I live in the worst state ever, so to come across this stuff is tough. It worked for me though. When I can get a hold of it.

  118. Mandi

I’m 27 and have been suffering from severe fibromyalgia for almost 9 years, onset triggered by the birth of my only son. I also have problems with my feet, and have had 5 unsuccessful surgeries beginning at the age of 15 to attempt to correct them. For many years I was taking up to 400mg of tramadol per day. In the last 6 months I have dropped to 100-150mg per day, simply because the side effects were getting horrendous. But the pain is overwhelming most of the time. I work 45-50 hours a week on my feet and need to stay alert. I need something that WORKS, what would you recommend and why?

    1. S. Youn

      Hi, Mandi!

Did you find a cbd or thc product that helps your pain yet allows you to keep up with your 50-hour work week on your feet? I am new to this and need something strong for 17 years of chronic severe neuropathy pain yet something that allows for long busy fast-paced work days too.

  119. Edgar Mundell

I used to smoke a shit load of pot back in the days for fun. Now at the age of 67 I use the oils for my old age problems. Works like a charm

  120. Dawn

Anyone know if any of these are effective for multifocal dystonia?

  121. Robert Guidry

I have nerve pain. Helps tremendously. I take two drops in the morning and two in the evening.

    1. Andrew Neely

Hello , my wife is suffering from a lot of pain caused by a trapped nerve in her lower back at the top of her buttock. The pain is mostly in the lower part of her buttock and leg. Please can anyone tell me if they have used CBD for intense pain caused by a trapped nerve. Thank you.

      1. Katherine

Yes I have use this for my back pain for many years now .
the pain that she has above her butt and down her leg is from the sciatic nerve trust me it’s the best thing that you can find and it’s all natural and if treated the right way the pain will be gone and healed

      2. Bob Mason

Look online for “piriformis muscle” exercises for sciatica. Have her give them a try for two weeks and see if that doesn’t actually cure it.

      3. Michelle

Sounds like sciatic nerve pain, and yes. It definitely works. 🙂

    2. Zeta

      What brand?

  122. Amanda Page

How to sensibly buy LEGAL cbd oil online? Because I got a letter saying customs has confiscated my package two times already and I’m pissed.

    1. mark

Amanda, I would presume that if customs sent you a letter you are trying to buy it overseas. I would buy one from a company in the US. I am looking for oil that is high in CBD. They do not do independent testing so you have to take their word on how much CBD is in the bottle. There are a few good companies to buy from.

      1. Crystal

Mark, can you tell me who the good companies are? I am looking.

        1. William C

Did you check out the ones on this list. It’s pretty accurate. I use the first one. Works well for my pain.

  123. Jennifer Franks

I have been suffering from Osteoarthritis for the last four years. There are some days that it kills me. Smoking really helps, but lately, I’ve been using cbd. It’s seems to have a positive effect

    1. Lenore

I also have osteoarthritis. How much of this oil to you take? What brand and strength? I have a very sensitive stomach and read this can cause diarrhea? Has this affected you in any negative way? How long did it take before you got relief?

      1. Vickishannon Shannon

I be been diagnosed with osteo arthritis a few months ago after I had a ankle break in Feb.2017 any advice will help t u

  124. Chris Pine

Marijuanabreak I ordered the first product on this list. It arrived a couple of days later and seems to be quite effective compared to other CBD oils I’ve tried. I suffer from mild arthritis pains. Been taking CBD for the last 3 weeks and I can see a major difference. Thanks for the info

  125. Leah Tate

I broke my leg a few years back. Even though I’ve completely recovered during the winter I sometimes get acute pain down my leg. It sends an awful pain up to my back. Been to dozens of doctors and they just prescribe meds. Last winter I came across these oils. It got me thought the winter just fine. Hope it will do the same this year

  126. Tom H

I have been using CBD oil for a few months and I do see some improvement. I have chronic back pain which keeps me up most nights. I tried a few different brands in the beginning which didn’t seem to help but I eventually found one that works for me. I think each one works differently. It’s significantly decreased the pain and I am able to sleep.

    1. Elle Maynerd

So my moms got spurs and chronic back pain of course the doctors just write her a script of some meds and we all know that is just a addictive band aid id really like to convert her over to somthing not harmful but also helpful, thus why im curious on CBDs would work for her best they def need to be strong and effective due to the pain she dose suffer, i noticed that you mentioned the same issues do you mind telling me which works best for you or even with my description of my moms issues what you think may work best for her thanks so much looking forward to hearing somthing back!

  127. Zoe G

I’ve been dealing with sciatica and anxiety. Some days are tough. This seems to be working.

    1. Joshua Richards

      Every drop helps!

  128. Chris Stewart

I have ulcerative colitis, CBD helps with my stomach cramps and also relieves my nausea

    1. Alex

May I ask what kind you use? How much %? How many drops? I am asking for my mom – same condition and she is a bit frightened about side effects or that it doesn’t go well with her medication. The doctors don’t know about it. 🙁

If possible, please let me know more

  129. Allison

Just been diagnosed with arthritis in my knees and the joints in my fingures hurt. I am very active and not going to give that up but would like to get rid of the pain of course. I’m overwhelmed by all the information out there and products and concentrations of CDB products. If I get a good one that works great then I want my mother and father to use it too because they have been in alot of pain with their arthritis also. I would like to just start with a high concentration if there are no bad side effects, what’s the difference in the mg’s? I also don’t want any THC on the product .

Please get back to me asap because I want to purchase right away.

    Thank you so much!!!

    1. Adam

Hi Allison, CBD treatment is very individual. What might work for one might not work for another. This depends on your general health, genetics and tolerance. The first two have been known to help arthritis but again you would have to try and see how you feel. Feel free to contact us through our FB page, we would be more than happy to provide you with any more information. Stay healthy

  130. Ava Green

I love CBD oil. It has made a remarkable difference for me. I have two ruptured disc in my back and a twisted colon. For years I had been on strong pain medicine before I discovered CBD.

    1. Brian Dean

Couldn’t agree more, since i have been taking it my anxiety levels have decreased and it seems to be helping my Fibro

    2. Karen

Which one do you use karen

  131. Mele

    Aloha,
Great reviews. I have severe nerve pain from a back injury 10years ago. Numb tingling back of both legs to the bottom of my feet. Any suggestions on one of the oils.. I have heard an oil with3-6%thc with CBD is the answer. I am in a legal MMJ staTe we just don’t have oils yet.

  132. Beverlee Kaster

Has anyone used a specific CBD oil for IC, IBS or endometriosis pain? I have tried a few, but nothing noticeably changed. Smoke everyday since I was 17 and like some of the responses, I need it more than I want it
    Thanks for your help

    1. Adam

Hi Beverlee, those are tricky conditions. The first oil on this list is quite good for pain, but IC is a tricky one. Have you discussed your conditions with the CBD companies before taking the oil? You might need a different dosage or better mix. Feel free to contact us though our FB page, we will try to help.

  133. Hamilton G

I have been smoking marijuana for nearly 52 years. At first it was just for the fun, now I really need it. I combine CBD oil as well and it helps me with my joint pains.

  134. Beth

Any recommendations for severe menstrual pain? I cannot take NSAIDS due to kidney disease. I would only need it a few days a month. Can any of the oils be mixed with coconut oil as a topical?

    1. Adam

Hi Beth, that is a tough one and it really depends on your DNA. We can’t really recommend one as each CBD oil has a different effect on each individual person. Purekana works well on a few different conditions. We’ve also heard that Foria and wellspring may work. You simply need to try. Mixing with coconut oil can be done but is normally done in edibles. When you combine cannabinoids with coconut oil, the fat in the oil helps the cannabinoids travel through your digestive tract where they will eventually be broken down and released for your body to use. Hope that helps

  135. Trish F

It seems to work well on muscle relaxation… I have less spasms on cbd than I did with other meds.

  136. Harvey

Great review! Some of them are better than others, but you really have try for yourself. I think it depends on your condition, DNA and tolerance. Like Purekana was good for a friend of mine but didn’t work for me. I found that Green Roads worked better.

    1. Arik S

Hi Harvey, I actually found the opposite. Though I completely agree with you. Never hurts to try.

  137. Anya S

It really helps me a lot. I suffer from bad temperament… a little depression and anxiety. I just started taking CBD and everything including my anxiety seems to be getting better.

  138. Ken T

Excellent post and great products. I have used two in the past. They work well

  139. Amanda

I used CBD oil to help with my arthritis pain, it helped pretty well. And as a bonus I got a good sleep

  140. Layla

I used CBD Pain Cream to help me with back pain. Didn’t expect a lot but it helped, and now I use it frequently when the pain comes back

  141. Fred

I like Pure Kana Natural CBD Oil
It’s simple works. Very quality products

  142. Tim

I take a few drops before I go to sleep. It eases the pain and I get a good nights sleep.

  143. Michelle Moseley

Do you have any information on treating dogs with CBD? I need to know how much in mg to use to replace phenobarbital. He has seizures.

    1. Sue

I have used cbd oil for my dog.She becomes very agitated and won’t stop shaking for hours if she hears a loud bang
Here in maine we hear that all the time. Dropper full and instant relief. It was a miracle.

  144. Julie

Since I had a car accident a few years ago, I have been on and off pills. Recently been using CBD oil for my pain. It does ease it

  145. Jason Lauve

I know it is not on the list, but stear clear of CBDRx products.

    1. Adam

Thanks Jason, but could you give us more detail and tell us why?

  146. Andy

CBD is the ANSWER. I am 58 years young and I suffer from chronic pain, anxiety and depression. No more 6 toxic pills a day.

    1. Alicia

Andy- can I ask which one you use for your symptoms and dose?

      1. Andy

I actually smoke and combine CBD. Currently using purekana but I often alternate after a few months. I’ve found that after a period of extensive use, my body kinda gets used to the oil, so I change.

        1. Cindy Johnson

Hi! You have encouraging words, smoking with CBD oil works? May I ask the mg? I’ve tried CBD with 15% THC, apparently not enough for me. I have chronic lumbar pain that radiates through the front of my thighs, weakens my legs until I get relief, right now from 15mg morphine 3x/day. We know it has to go. I AM petrified about pain relief effectiveness. Like what is really going to work? I’m 62, would like some of my life back.

  147. Sally

Me too. I have been suffering for years with back pain. CBD oil is a life saver.

for pain in the body do you take the oil drops by mouth or rub on the painful area topically on your skin?

Before Hemp CBD oil, my daily life depended upon opiates just to get out of bed each morning. What a change!

Hi. Thanks for sharing these testimonials I’ve been wanting to get off opioids for quite some time. I have several bulging/ruptured discs thoracic & lumbar, degeneration- leg pain …I’ve read that there’s no specific brand of oil that can be recommended for my type pain- is there a mg or tincture recommendation? I am on one buprenorphine patch 20mcg/hour EVERY 7 days..ANYONE that has similar pain~ your advice is welcomed and appreciated

I have 4 herniated discs in my neck, arthritis in my knee and am bipolar II. I’m on hydrocodone 4x a day along with muscle relaxers, gabapentin and lamictal. I’ve found that CBD has greatly reduced the amount of meds I need to take. I actually use pure CBD isolate and prefilled terpine rich cartridge vapes from a young company not listed (Veedverks). The combination of the two provides almost complete pain relief that the hydrocodone can’t begin to match and it has completely alleviated my bipolar symptoms.

Maya, Your story is very familiar to me. I hope I can find the same relief

I take the butrans patch too for Lyme disease plus Tramadol. Would love to know also if CBd would help so could cut back on these meds.

Have you researched Kratom? If you use CBD and Kratom combined you should be able to get away from opioids. I’ve been in this process for a while now. Opioids don’t work well because my liver has a crazy-fast metabolism, and the emotional/mental consequences of long-term opioids for pain aren’t worth it. Kratom does NOT provide ANY sense of “high” and is all natural as well (I make teas & tinctures)-although due to reports of ‘benefits’ including a possible ‘sense of euphoria’, it’s on the radar for possibly becoming illegal (which is so stupid… as it’s like chamomile tea for sleep). Any ‘euphoria’ is more like realizing you’re now in a better mood. Actually all of it’s effects are more like that… you’ll need to ‘realize/notice’ you’re in less pain, have less anxiety, etc. There are sites about it for opioid withdrawal, use with CBD oil, & in place of opioids for pain.
