Jared Ulmer was born and raised in Northern Utah, USA. In the Spring of 2013, Jared graduated from Weber State University with a BS Degree in Botany with a minor in Chemistry.
Soon after graduating, Jared moved to California and completely immersed himself in the cannabis culture there. He eventually returned to Utah to further pursue his interests and improve his skills on the cultivation side of the cannabis industry.
Jared is currently employed in the quality control department at one of Utah’s most certified and compliant processors – LifeTech Pharma. He also performs work in their lab to ensure the safest products possible.
Jared has worked in growing and production since 2015, having worked for a number of grow operations and dispensaries.
Jared’s time spent on these farms opened his eyes to the unique solutions growers came up with for specific tasks, as well as to solve their unique problems. He paid close attention to everything from how many staff was onsite to different methods of growing, drying, and curing, the fertilizers that were present near the greenhouses, and so on.
He has since moved onto his position in Quality Control at Lifetech Pharma and has gained even more experience in the world of cannabis, and works with several hemp extractors within the state.
Jared first enrolled at Weber State University in 2010. In 2013 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Botany and Chemistry. He studied botany with an emphasis on developing professional laboratory skills.
In 2015 Jared received his Master Gardener Certification, Botany/Plant Biology. Master Gardeners receive 13-14 weeks of college-level lectures and hands-on training that is taught by Extension Specialists and Extension Faculty.
Between January and October of 2015, he shared his expertise as a Master Gardener Training Volunteer at the Utah State University. The purpose of this program is to develop a network of trained volunteers who can provide Utah communities with unbiased, research-based horticultural education, and technical assistance in gardening and home horticulture.
