Dr. Alexandre Oliveira
Dr. Alexandre Oliveira is an agronomist and agricultural professional. He has built a strong record of developing protocols for improving sexual/asexual plant propagation strategies. Dr. Oliveria also has a keen interest in crop environment interactions, plant propagation, germination ecophysiology, and tolerance to abiotic stresses in plants, especially through drought and salinity.
Dr. Oliveira has several qualifications in Agronomy and Crop Science. He received a Ph.D. degree in Agronomy/Plant Sciences in 2010. He currently lives in Massachusetts and is focused on learning and spreading the knowledge about cannabis cultivation.
Dr. Oliveira is very much committed to destigmatizing the cannabis plant and the controversy that surrounds it. He wants everyone to know about this amazing plant and the many benefits that it has to offer people all around the world.
Dr. Oliveira worked as an Assistant Professor of Plant Sciences for more than ten years in Brazil. Between 2009 and 2012 he held the position of Assistant Professor of Agriculture at Piaui State University. His role here involved spearheading crop propagation management and resource experiments in controlled environments.
In May of 2012, he got a position as Assistant Professor of Agronomy and Crop Physiology at the Federal University of Ceara. He worked here until July 2019. His role here involved conducting extramural funded research and extension projects producing innovation and training for growers and academia.
In the research field, he has worked for over seven years as the head of a Crop Physiology Laboratory and the leader of the Ecophysiology of Semiarid Agroecosystems Research Group, advising both undergraduate and graduate students.
He has published 6 books, 21 chapters in books and 65 articles in scientific specialized journals. He has also contributed as a reviewer and member of scientific publishers and various high-impact journals’ editorial boards.
Back in 2006, Dr. Oliveira received a Bachelor of Science (BSC) degree in Agronomy and Crop Sciences from the Federal University of Ceara. He also went onto get his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Agronomy and Crop Sciences – completed in 2008.
In addition, Dr. Oliveira has a BSC in Secondary Education with a specialization in Biological Sciences, which he received from Ceara State University in 2009. His focus was on Plant Physiology and Horticulture for Middle and High School.
In 2010, he achieved his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Agronomy/Plant Sciences from the Federal University of Ceara. Dr. Oliveira is also pursuing his Post-Doctoral ventures at the University of Florida.
Other qualifications and certifications include:
- Certificate in the Medical Marijuana Industry (2019) from the Cannabis Training University, Denver, CO.
- Training in Recreational Marijuana Worker Permit (2019) from the Oregon Liquor Control Commission.
